Halloween 2011

Can I just shout out, at the top of my lungs, how much I love Halloween? Well, I do…I am deeply and madly in love with the holiday. I think my husband gets a little jealous. Actually it is kinda of awesome because he almost loves Halloween as much as I do, almost. I wanted to make this year the most memorable and fantastic for one simple reason, our son. Now, Halloween just got better. I know right, how can it get better then candy corn, spooky cupcakes and costumes? Well this year we got to dress up, introduce, and share this festive holiday with our little guy. I had to go big. How big? Not crazy Jack and Bean Stalk big, but more of a magical forest with lots of goodies and treats to share with our family and friends. Instead of hosting our 4th annual adult Halloween party we hosted our very own kid-friendly enchanted forest Halloween bash. Our ‘lil family traded in our t-shirts and jeans for brown and tan feathers. My lil owlet turned out to be the star of his own party. Yay! But, I didn’t stop there. Because I’m a little costume insane like that, our second costume was a more traditional trio type. I’ll give you a hint….”I yam what I yam.” Enjoy:)

Baby Bumps: Nazareth

What is more exciting than finding out you are pregnant? Finding out that you are expecting two peas in one pod! Yes twinzies, as I like to call them, are truly a double blessing. Our friend, Nazareth announced her second pregnancy in a really cute way. She placed a ‘lil snap shirt on her one year old son that read “Big Brother” and posted it online.  Since she is a facebook regular, she had a ton of family and friends liking her status. A couple of months later she wowed us all with her second announcement. Nazareth and her family of three would soon be a fab family of five. To put the icing on the cake she will soon be expecting one sweet little girl and another awesome boy.

As soon as I heard the great news I immediately asked if she would like me to photograph her newborns. She replied with very enthusiastic yes! Lucky Me! (So stay tuned). Then, Nazareth contacted me to capture her lovely pregnancy with a maternity session. I packed my goodies and off I went. Nazareth is seven months now. So in twin terms she is almost due-eek! We took our time, had some laughs and let the sun shine down on her beautiful silhouette.

Nazareth I love your snazzy sense of humor and your sweet smirk. Thank you for trusting me with your belly. Oh ya, I can’t forget, I love your Vidal Sassson hair!

Balloons are so much fun and add great color. I’m glad she choose hot pinks for her girl and baby blues for her boy.

Nazareth’s expecting in December, but with twins you never know when THEY are going to make their grand appearance.
Nazareth and Luis’ first son’s name is James. And J is for Joshua and Jayden. I love it when families use the same initial for all their little tikes:)
The twins’ first photo shoot. They are such great models!

Family: Pumpkin Patch

It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown is probably my favorite Halloween cartoon of all time. I just love how simple and innocent it is. That being said, I love Halloween even more. The dressing up, holiday crafts, candy, and most of all the pumpkins. Maybe it’s the color or maybe it’s the smell? Well whatever it is that makes my heart pitter patter for pumpkins probably has to do with the search for the “Great Pumpkin.” This weekend was our turn to search far and wide for that perfect pumpkin. My family (I’m talking about my husband, baby, sisters, mom, and sister’s boyfriend) and I went to Tanaka Farms, in Irvine, to take a ‘lil promenade through the patch, eat pumpkin seeds and hitch a ride on the tractor!  Actually it was my very first time at a real pumpkin patch. Yes! Usually we get our future jack-o-laterns at the local market or mini-patch. But not this year. This year had to be extra special because we’ve added a new member to the bunch. Ya, that’s right our bebe is tagging along now and from here  on out, we are going to make it a tradition!

I think we just found the “Great Pumpkin.”

The sisters got into the action too!
This tie is made with love, from me!
Baby seems a little nervous on the tractor. Or maybe he’s just had a long day.Family portrait taken by my sister, Thanks Marissa:)

Photo Booths: Ralph and Emily’s Wedding

About a month ago I got super excited to design a custom made photo booth for a fun and creative couple, Ralph and Emily. Then, this weekend, I had the honor to take the photo booth pictures for them at their wedding in Arcadia. When I met Emily I knew she was one of those awesome brides, you know the ones, that get what they want done a.s.a.p. but still allow their vendors to add their own creative input. We also had help from her amazingly sweet sister, Diana. Diana has been her sister’s right hand women since the beginning of the engagement. Initially she was the one that got things moving along with the design. Then we all met  and our meeting went like this; I sketched, she agreed, and ta-dah her glamorous red, white and damask photo booth was born. Ralph, her husband was such a great sport. He let Emily do all the decision making. Love those kinda men! Finally the evening had come and I was thrilled to see all the guests using the silly props and frames. I know Ralph and Emily’s photo booth memories will be unforgettable because the guests displayed their affection for the newlyweds through humor and their loving smiles. Congratulations you two love birds!
