Gens. UCLA Graduation & Fiesta. 2012.

Oh the places she’ll go… Proud is an understatement whenever I speak of my sisters’ accomplishments, and I couldn’t be more ecstatic for this chick-a-dee!

Usually, people that have a goal set strive to accomplish it for a purpose. There is a specific reason and/or motivation behind accomplishing the objective in mind. No matter if it’s something as simple as a losing weight, getting an “A” on a test for a parent, or even acquiring a job to impress a significant other, we all do things if not for our self, but for someone that has or has had a powerful impact in our life. Genevieve, or as our family likes to call her, Gens, gained her own motivation from our late Nana. A couple of years ago, our family had a great loss not only in our lives, but our hearts. With any struggle in life, most people will take a fall and gather themselves up by the boot-straps to get back on the road. Gens never really fell, but a little bit of her soul did. So, she decided to turn the pain that she endured from our Nana’s absence into a positive motivation to continue to pursue her education with the fight of a champion. And she did! Genevieve is now a proud graduate from the University of California, Los Angeles. She plans to continue her educational path and pursue law school. There she plans to fight for the rights of the elderly, in memory of her beloved Nana, Emma R. Ruiz.

Baby sister I think the world of you and your accomplishments and I am so honored to celebrate every moment by your side. As tears are slowly rolling down my cheek, I know you will continue to make our family proud and continue to make Nana smile from above. We Love you Gens!

Nea, Eddie, Kobe & Peyton. Mommy & Me.

Are you in love with these triplets, or what? Not one, not two, but I had the most awesome experience photographing three little men. Nea, a photographer from laced bliss & love is the super mommy to Eddie, Kobe, and Peyton. During the session we all got our work out on! They jumped, I jumped, they rolled I swayed, they giggled and we all laughed. Believe me it wasn’t an easy task following these little dudes around, but I just pretended that I was Wonder Woman and Professor X combo trying to freeze every frame to get just the right shot.

I met Nea along with Moriah and Gaby and we clicked instantly. These photographers are fun, super cool, and very down-to-earth girls. Our friend and mentor Ala, from Love Ala photography introduced us and I couldn’t be happier to now call these up-and-coming photographers, like myself, friends. Capturing family love is my forte. Nea, and the girls, as well as myself are trying to convey the most beautiful of all relationships in a family, that of a mother and her child(ren).  Through these intimate Mommy & Me sessions I hope to bring out the silly, serious, and even real moments that only a mother and her children could share together.

Nea, thank you for allowing me into your home and entrusting me with your tres bebes! You are gorgeous and your boys are so much fun and super duper adorable! I can’t wait to do this again.

Look at their faces….ahhh I love it!
Such handsome cuties!
Head, shoulders…knees…
…and toes.
Stunning!I heart story time!Peek-A-BooShe does not play around…Nea did her thang!

Naomi. Graduation 2012. UCLA.

As we walked through the cap and gown-filled hallways and down the baby hills, we found ourselves almost dashing for the perfect spot to start Naomi’s undergrad graduation photo shoot at UCLA. Yes, it was a bit crowded with future bruin alumni and their “paparazzi.” I was among several photographers trying to get the perfect light, shot, and spot for my graduate. So as we waited for our turn to grab a snap under the Bruin Bear or in front of Royce Hall we chatted about Naomi’s ultra ambitious future in Psychology. Naomi wowed me when she said that after graduating she would attend a dual commuting Psychology intern program. She will have  to travel to both UCLA and UCR and had no complaints about the commute whatsoever. After her internship she plans to start her PHd program in hopes that she would finish within five years and then work as a Psychologist with children. Wowzers! I was impressed. You go girl! Along with brains, Naomi was truly humble, sweet, and  ever so beautiful. Throughout our evening of chatting and photographing her flawless style we got down and dirty and I challenged Naomi to climb to Bruin Bear to get, well a fantastic shot. This girl has killer long legs and still I pushed, she heaved, I shoved and she screamed, but in the end we laughed and got some pretty amazing and memorable pictures of her ridding the good ole bear. Oh by the way, as she was half way up she screamed, “but I’m afraid of heights!” Aye, this girl.

I absolutely loved our time spent laughing, almost crying and you still looked gorgeous! Congratulations sweetie and good luck with your amazing journey! I know you will be just excellent, especially since you will be rocking all those honors cords at graduation. Here’s a bit more of Naomi’s shoot.

I love silhouette photos. And these just scream pretty.Gorgeous. I swooned over the dress, the color, and of course her sweet smile. She was completely rocking every shot! This glow kills me…so warm and pretty!See we had fun…look no shoes:0I’m so proud of her!I always like to mention my favorites. These are my fave!

Marivella, Michael, Michael Jr. & Future Baby Matthew. Maternity.

Something is definitely in the air. Everyone I know is pregnant, again. Yes, most of my mommy friends are on baby numero dos and I couldn’t help but start to get the itch myself. No, not yet…(I know what you were thinking)! Another good friend from elementary school contacted me through, Facebook (boy, I love you FB!) in hopes that I would take maternity photos for her. Again, I got a little teary-eyed, feeling blessed that I had been chosen to help capture a moment in time for my old grammar school acquaintance and her family.

Marivella and Michael are pregnant with their second child, it’s a boy. Michael Jr., their first son, will turn three very soon. He was so well behaved and gave me a smile as sweet as sugar every time I asked. All he wanted at the end of the shoot was an ice-cream cone from the ice cream man. Kids at his age are so easily pleased, and I love it. Marivella and Mike will name their second bundle of joy Matthew to go with their “M” themed names. That’s the best (just a bit bias)!

Marivella, you and your growing family are so sweet. Glad we got to connect again and I can’t wait to see your second beautiful baby boy! Good luck mama! Here’s some more of the shoot.

He totally deserves an ice-cream cone after this ear to ear smile.
Marivella, your eyes are so gorgeous and sincere.Tummy love!I was always jealous of Marivella’s thick and luxurious hair…and I still am!
