Luca | Newborn |Riverside Newborn Photography

Darling Lucia Camila was born on December 22nd, weighing in at 6lbs 4.3 oz. and 18.9 inches. Her mom and dad lovingly call her Luca for short. She may have been a ‘lil thang coming into this world, but when we met she already, according to her mother, had a rough and tough little ‘tude which apparently she got from her auntie. I loved it! It reminded me of my own daughter and I guess myself, shy at first and then we break out of our cocoon and become beautiful confident butterflies.

Her parents already adore her but told me in all honesty they were suffering by trying to keep up with her nocturnal sleeping patterns. Sound familiar? For me it totally does! After three kids I can kinda claim I’m an expert, right? Well, like the familiar 00’s phrase went, “You ain’t gotta lie to kick it!” Here’s the truth. My son didn’t sleep on his own in his own bed till he was two and a half. Yes, it was partly our fault being first time parents but we also didn’t realize that it was our lack of confidence that he could feel oozing out of our groins that made him insecure and want to sleep with us. Another reason why we failed was because we didn’t use the best baby sleeper in the world at that time, which was the Rock -n- Play. This was a life saver with my two other children. They slept in it like a bug in a rug because it snuggles them nice and cozy like they sleeping in arms. Plus new research show that all infants and babies, should sleep at an angle, so air can flow freely and they don’t choke on their spit. And my last bit of advice, which I got from another mom was to give your his last bottle, for the nigh,t as formula (if you are nursing which I did). Formula keeps them asleep longer because it is thicker and allows them to stay full unlike nursing which is thin and makes them hungry after a few hours. We used this method with our last and it worked wonders as well.  Hopefully these little tips help someone out there and of course Francisco and Janet.

Fransisco and Janet, as the saying goes, the days are long but the years are short. Enjoy each sleepless night because it will not be long before she’s grown and no long this teeny.

London | Newborn

Oh London you may have come into this world little but I know you are here to do big things! London was born a couple of months ago to first time mama, Pryscilla. Mommy and daddy couldn’t be more prepared and it definitely showed! Their new little trio was so perfectly calm during their newborn session that I was a little surprised this was their first time around. Even London slept so well in Pryscillas arms, then on their furry rug, and finally in his bed I was in newborn heaven. I was like, sheesh someone give this kiddo an award for best napper! I’m sure he’s going to make his parents really happy for a while, well until his teeth start coming in! (Ha, this is a veteran parent’s joke).

Oh and how clever is London’s mama? She made this felt letter board! I absofreakinlutley love it when my clients get their craft on and make items for their session. Rock on with your bad self mama! By the way can I get one in pink? lol

Well Happy “Birth”day baby boy! I know you are going to use all those zzzz to take on all of your big dreams!

Venessa | Maternity | Vista Hermosa

I met Venessa a few years ago when we taught at the same school in Los Angeles. She was a sweet gal who loved her profession as well as children. So, I always knew she’d make for an incredible mama! Then a couple of years later I took her and her husband’s Anniversary photos at their alma mater, Loyola Marymount University and I was like, “When is this fun couple going to make a baby?!” Ha, and now here we are celebrating their baby boy bump (actually he already arrived and is as cute as can be)! Oh and her sweet grandma made these super soft and cute baby booties and sweater! Yes!!! I always love anythang handmade. 2016-10-13_00012016-10-13_00022016-10-13_00032016-10-13_00042016-10-13_00052016-10-13_00062016-10-13_00072016-10-13_00082016-10-13_00092016-10-13_00102016-10-13_00112016-10-13_00122016-10-13_00132016-10-13_00142016-10-13_00152016-10-13_00162016-10-13_00172016-10-13_00182016-10-13_00192016-10-13_00202016-10-13_00212016-10-13_00222016-10-13_00232016-10-13_0024

Pryscilla | Maternity | Irvine Regional Park

Pryscilla, husband Mike, and their cute pooch Killa are all ready to welcome their first baby into the family this December! Yup, Killa is going to be a big brother! He’s been apart of their family for a while so why not have him included into Pryscilla’s maternity session?! I love it when family’s bring their fur babies into the family portraits because unfortunately they only bring us joy for a fraction of time. He, along with soon-to-be mom and dad were as cool as we all long for a California Fall to be in September. Even though Pryscilla claimed she was camera shy I didn’t believe it for one second. As soon as we started our session I knew I was right, she shined bright like a diamond in each and every image! That baby glow, her dress, plus flower crown were perfection! I would have probably worn something similar myself. I can’t wait to meet your little handsome guy and see how good of a big brother Killa will be!2016-10-05_00012016-10-11_00012016-10-11_00022016-10-11_00032016-10-11_00042016-10-11_00052016-10-11_00062016-10-11_00072016-10-11_00082016-10-11_00092016-10-11_00102016-10-11_00112016-10-11_00122016-10-11_00132016-10-11_00142016-10-11_00152016-10-11_00162016-10-11_00172016-10-11_00182016-10-11_00192016-10-11_00202016-10-11_00212016-10-11_00222016-10-11_00232016-10-11_00242016-10-11_00252016-10-11_00262016-10-11_00272016-10-11_00282016-10-11_00292016-10-11_00302016-10-11_00312016-10-11_00322016-10-11_00332016-10-11_00342016-10-11_0035

Amanda | Maternity | Brea

If you are an optimist then you believe in silver linings and how beautiful and bright rainbows always follow storms to give hope. There is no more truer hope then the one of a new life. Amanda, her husband, and big brother, Benjamin have been patiently waiting for this moment, to celebrate their future daughter and little sister.

When Amanda contacted me to photograph her maternity session I was as pumped as a mom walking through Trader Joe’s and finding the last box of Pumpkin Joes in October (that was a mouthful). They are like the cutest little pumpkin family I ever did see. Can you tell how excited I am about pumpkin season?! Well they are…and then she told me they were having a GIRL! I am so excited for their new baby, journey into the two-kid zone, and that their babe is a girl! Amanda is so gorgeous I can’t wait to meet a mini-her!

Luke | Newborn | At Home Session

He came into their lives a few days late, but had their heart from the beginning. Luke is one of the squishiest and creamiest little handsome babes evah! Vanessa and Aaron welcomed Luke in July and he was the best 10 pound present they every could have received. Right away he was showered with gifts, like a prince, from all of his aunties (cause he’s got that auntie team -you know I love me some old Kanye). He may have taken his time baking, but when he arrived Vanessa and Aaron were ready with an adorable shabby chic- sprinkled nursery. Just take a peek for yourself! Every time they spoke of their babe smiles and laughter just exuded from their spirits. I don’t buy that whole baby smiles come from gas, nope I know his grin came from all the good vibes his parents were spreading in the room that day. Through out Luke’s first ever photo session he was just a natural baby model…someone put him in an ad!

Congratulations Vanessa and Aaron and thank you for allowing me to help you capture these firsts of your son and the new chapter in your lives!2016-08-23_00012016-08-23_00022016-08-23_00032016-08-23_00042016-08-23_00052016-08-23_00062016-08-23_00072016-08-23_00082016-08-23_00092016-08-23_00102016-08-23_00112016-08-23_00122016-08-23_00132016-08-23_00142016-08-23_00152016-08-23_00162016-08-23_00172016-08-23_00182016-08-23_00192016-08-23_00202016-08-23_00212016-08-23_00222016-08-23_00232016-08-23_00242016-08-23_00252016-08-23_00262016-08-23_00272016-08-23_00282016-08-23_00292016-08-23_00302016-08-23_00312016-08-23_00322016-08-23_00332016-08-23_00342016-08-23_00352016-08-23_00362016-08-23_00372016-08-23_00382016-08-23_00392016-08-23_00402016-08-23_00412016-08-23_00422016-08-23_00432016-08-23_00442016-08-23_00452016-08-23_0046

Naya | Newborn | At Home Session

One of my favorite fams had another baby girl and they are just head-over-heels for her! Welcome to my family too, the Eva Marie Photo newborns family that is! I adore watching, photographing, and interacting with all these adorable babes and their families! It’s amazing to watch all these sweetie pies from the beginning to toddlerhood and on. So, thank you dear family for allowing me to help capture another one of your beautiful babes!

Naya did you know your big sister was also photographed by me too? Well she was and you are just a sweet, delicate, and precious as you! Your mommy and daddy love their girls without a doubt, so much so that they’d spend a couple of hours of their free time with me so that they could get these memories of you to cherish forever and ever. Naya, soon you’ll recognize your sister’s adorable giggle every time she’s trying tease your daddy by running away from him. Then you will grow a little more and you’ll probably only feel one hundred percent comfortable in your mommy’s warm embrace as she looks down at you with such an overwhelming sense of joy. And then get ready for your daddy to throw you up high in the sky just to make you smile. Don’t worry he’ll always be there to catch you, just like he does with your sister. Oh and let’s talk about how your sister is looking forward to being your very best friend, to tell secrets to and to play with under the sun in your big backyard. Welcome to the world Naya!

Jolene | Newborn | At Home Session

J is for Jolene. Baby Jojo is as precious as they come! I think I’ll call her Jolene the Jewel! She was so teeny tiny, or maybe I just forgot how small newborns are, she reminded me of just a bundle of cute little bits. I also love her family to pieces. They are my sweet friends and our children are the best of friends. Again and again, I just feel so full of joy and humbled when I’m asked to photograph any family, especially my dear friend’s. Can I mention how Jolene is not only a pretty peach, but already sleeps through the night, loves her nappy naps, and only fusses when she wants her mama’s arms. Yes, she’s a dream!

Why is baby number two always so easy peasy? Maybe it’s because as parents we are confidant, feel like veterans, and we know that we can actually successfully keep a mini-human alive for 365 days and more (unlike my darn succulents). lol

Congratulations to my friends and their now even more adorable family! Oh and take a lookie at their sister pictures. Can I just take sister pictures all day every day?!2016-07-24_00142016-07-24_00012016-07-24_00022016-07-24_00032016-07-24_00042016-07-24_00052016-07-24_00062016-07-24_00072016-07-24_00082016-07-24_00092016-07-24_00102016-07-24_00112016-07-24_00122016-07-24_00132016-07-24_00152016-07-24_00162016-07-24_00172016-07-24_00182016-07-24_00192016-07-24_00202016-07-24_00212016-07-24_00222016-07-24_00232016-07-24_00242016-07-24_00252016-07-24_00262016-07-24_00272016-07-24_00282016-07-24_00292016-07-24_00302016-07-24_00312016-07-24_00322016-07-24_00332016-07-24_00342016-07-24_00352016-07-24_00362016-07-24_00372016-07-24_00362016-07-24_00372016-07-24_00382016-07-24_00392016-07-24_0040
