Paola & Nick | Maternity

I’m back…yes I’ve taken more than a little hiatus from this blogging life. Not from photography, at all, I think it was actually the fact that I had so much photography work (which is always a good thing-scratch that- except for my blog) that I didn’t have enough time for blog posts. Well enough of my semi-explanation let’s take a look at my most recent maternity session.

Meet Paola and Nick. Isn’t it so interesting how this world is so small, especially in this “social media” one where we think someone might be worlds aways but you could just bump into them at your local Target (insert emoji of woman with one hand lifted sideways). Well, that sort of happened here, sort of. My husband and Nick (father-to-be) went to high school together. We met and the three of us hung out one night in our town. Years later Paola (mommy-to-be) finds my feed through a friend’s post and voíla we are here documenting all of her belly’s beauty.

Paola and Nick are so excited for the arrival of their baby, who’s due in late August. And…I can’t wait to meet their little one because yup they booked me for their Newborn session as well. Bring on the baby fever. Just kidding, I only like to smell them now. Throughout the session these two were all over another giggling and teasing one another like they were newlyweds. It was so sweet I almost thought I was shooting their engagement session instead of their maternity. Yup you could say “all the feels” for this one!

Oh and check out Paola’s hair and dress…work it mama!

Naya | Newborn | At Home Session

One of my favorite fams had another baby girl and they are just head-over-heels for her! Welcome to my family too, the Eva Marie Photo newborns family that is! I adore watching, photographing, and interacting with all these adorable babes and their families! It’s amazing to watch all these sweetie pies from the beginning to toddlerhood and on. So, thank you dear family for allowing me to help capture another one of your beautiful babes!

Naya did you know your big sister was also photographed by me too? Well she was and you are just a sweet, delicate, and precious as you! Your mommy and daddy love their girls without a doubt, so much so that they’d spend a couple of hours of their free time with me so that they could get these memories of you to cherish forever and ever. Naya, soon you’ll recognize your sister’s adorable giggle every time she’s trying tease your daddy by running away from him. Then you will grow a little more and you’ll probably only feel one hundred percent comfortable in your mommy’s warm embrace as she looks down at you with such an overwhelming sense of joy. And then get ready for your daddy to throw you up high in the sky just to make you smile. Don’t worry he’ll always be there to catch you, just like he does with your sister. Oh and let’s talk about how your sister is looking forward to being your very best friend, to tell secrets to and to play with under the sun in your big backyard. Welcome to the world Naya!

Our Babe | Part Two | Newborn Photography

What can I say, I’m a bit obsessed with taking photos of my kids. I just can’t help myself! It’s their little toes, squishy noses, and overall innocence that gets me. Like they say, “time flies” and boy it sure does! I get all emotional just thinking about how I started my photography business. When my son was born a little over four years ago I really wanted to capture every single possible moment of his life. It took us a little while to get pregnant so when he arrived I couldn’t help but take a daily, weekly, monthly, and each milestone photo. Once I started clicking I literally couldn’t stop. I knew I was passionate about photography when I was in high school, but I didn’t realize how much I enjoyed making people smile (especially my son) and capturing those beautiful images. Now I am so obsessed with trying to perfect the ideal balance between a pretty posed shot and a effortlessly beautiful candid image that I want to practice on my children all the time. Here are a little bit of both types of photos. And now that our family is complete I really want to make sure I get as many of their “growing up together” moments before they all part their ways into adult hood and all I’m left with are my memories and these photos of my beautiful babes! (I know those last couple of lines had my throat in a knot) 2015-07-13_00202015-07-13_00022015-07-13_00032015-07-13_00042015-07-13_00052015-07-13_00062015-07-13_00072015-07-13_00082015-07-13_00092015-07-13_00102015-07-13_00112015-07-13_00122015-07-13_00132015-07-13_00142015-07-13_00152015-07-13_00162015-07-13_00172015-07-13_00182015-07-13_00192015-07-13_00212015-07-13_00222015-07-13_00232015-07-13_00242015-07-13_0025

Athena | Newborn | San Pedro

Motherhood is a beautiful and most rewarding experience in life. Before becoming a mother you can imagine, dream, and some might even cringe at what it’s like, but being a mother is a million times better with heart explosions every day (I know so cliché). It’s the fact that this being is here because of you, because you nurtured it for ten months, and then after this gorgeous babe entered the world you continued to love, feed, and help him or her (or both) grow. The baby, child, teen, and so on carry parts of your personality, morals, nose, hair and eye color, character, and everything else in between. Now being a first-time mother is well even more the bomb, (lol is that still cool to say???) because all these expererinces are brand new with unknown end results that most of the time end in laughter, like hearing tiny baby farts, or just plain warm and fuzzy feelings when your babe says your name. Motherhood is a wonderful thang ya’ll!

I thought I’d write a little longer then usual and  dedicate this portion to the mamas because we are in May, but pretty much the same goes for dads except the whole child bearing portion that is basically allows your babe to enter into the world (Ha! You know I’m just being hard on you dads.)

Meet baby Athena again! I recently had the honor to photograph her Day After Birth session, which was an amazing experience being on the other side of that hospital bed! Here she is again just as adorable or even more because her personality is starting to shine through after just twenty-one days of life. Congratulations Cindy and Herman on your first babe. She’s just a doll!

Baby Oliver | Newborn Lifestyle | Huntington Beach

Baby Oliver. Twenty-one days young. Connie and Oliver (Sr. aka dad) had been very anxious to meet their little bundle. Cupid must have saved an extra arrow for these three because Oliver arrived, just as scheduled, on February 14, 2015. Then the love bug hit them and they were hooked! Making his grand entrance into the world Oliver came in weighing just a little over 9 whopping pounds. How in the heck did this chunk of love come out of his little mama? You can see how adorable and tiny Connie looked during her maternity session a few months ago.

Both parents wanted to make sure to capture as many photos as they could of their first baby.  They requested that I focus mostly on their handsome babe and well, I did. The photo below is a sweet one of all three of them that I snuck into the session. The rest are of all the most precious itty bitty parts and curiously cute faces of Oliver.2015-03-10_00012015-03-10_00022015-03-10_00032015-03-10_00042015-03-10_00052015-03-10_00062015-03-10_00072015-03-10_00082015-03-10_00092015-03-10_00102015-03-10_00112015-03-10_00122015-03-10_00132015-03-10_00142015-03-10_00152015-03-10_00162015-03-10_00172015-03-10_00182015-03-10_00192015-03-10_00202015-03-10_00212015-03-10_00222015-03-10_00232015-03-10_00242015-03-10_00252015-03-10_00262015-03-10_00272015-03-10_00282015-03-10_0029

Marina. Newborn. Los Angeles Lifestyle Photography.

Babies are like little pretty packages controlling the music to an intense game of musical chairs. This usually drives parents-to-be insane because they never know when or where the music will go off…and there you go, rushing to the delivery room. This was true for Christina and Mario. Baby Marina was ready to come out, but wasn’t quite sure when to make her grand debut. Christina had been having contractions for a couple of days and decided to check herself into the hospital. When they got there, she was barely dilating so they sent her back home. Like with most women, this last stretch of the pregnancy is truly torturous because everything hurts and you are tired, but you also want to see your darling babe pop out. Christina and Mario went back a few days later. Their little nugget took her time. The waiting finally ceased and beautiful Marina Grace arrived as healthy as can be on August 8, 2014. Welcome Marina!

Kim, Danny & Baby Ella. Classic Newborn. Los Angeles Newborn Photographer.

Oh dear me….what am I going to write about this darling couple? Kim, my husband’s good high school friend, kept joking (to her baby) about all the mishaps (well what she thought would be mishaps) that took place during our seriously completely fun newborn session. So Kim, I’ll write this:

Kim and Danny are new parents to baby Ella, a darling five-week old baby girl (and hopefully my daughter’s new playmate), with the most adorable chicly-like hair, all puffy and extra soft. Yes, although the lighting in the home wasn’t the best, we improvised on probably the most gorgeous warm and sunny day this March has seen. I thought Kim, being a nurse, would want to slap me for asking to take her little newbie outside…especially all nakie, but she was totally up for the idea. Thank you Danny for being so sweet and running back and forth inside for everything Kim and I needed. Kim, you sure have an awesome husband and dad! Danny and Kim speak to Ella as if she’s already five. I love it! Danny treats and talks to Ella as if she’s the queen of his world, while Kim is constantly gazzing at her daughter with such adoring love.

Throughout the session we chit chatted about her pregnancy and her non-medicated delivery- OUCH! You are so brave! Anytime we would discuss something serious like Kim’s delivery she would make me laugh all over agin. Like whenever Ella would cry, Kim gently told her daughter to ship up because Evie didn’t want a “wha-wha” baby and that “wha-wha” babies didn’t make good photos. I pretty much laughed till my stomach hurt. Kim you were killing me with your cuteness!

They love their “heart” (pet name for their daughter) fiercely and tenderly. Kim and Danny, I know the sleepless nights can be rough but in about a few months you’ll start REMing again. Just kidding, it may be longer, like with our little guy. Congratulations on your beautiful baby girl! I’m so happy for you and Danny!
