Victor, Kimberly, Eric & Isa. Los Angeles Family Photographer.

You know when you get a new car, how you immediately begin to notice that almost everyone has the same car as you? Well, that’s how I see the make-up of families. When I was pregnant, all I noticed were the pregnant women around me. Then, after my son, I noticed every family that had a boy clinging onto a parent’s arm. Now that I know we are ready for another one, I drool over families of four… especially those with a little brother and sister pair (I’m probably going to end up with four boys…make it five, so I can have a basketball team… a big J.K.).

Once Kimberly contacted me about taking her  family of four photos, my heart started racing like I was on the verge of a mini-heart attack. I couldn’t wait to meet her son and daughter. I wanted to see how their sibling relationship worked.  I wasn’t disappointed. I loved every moment that I got to witness the big brother-little sister love. Then I was floored when these stinkin’ cute kids whipped out their favorite dress-up gear. Hello? What little kid doesn’t like to go out in their finest super-hero cape and princess outfits? And I loved how Kimberly and Victor were supportive of their kiddies dressing up. They wanted to showcase Eric and Isa’s interests at their cute little ages of five and two. I can’t wait to have another one, so I can do the same thing every year. Yes, I said it. Every Year. Ha!

Kimberly and Victor, your family was my obsession for the day. I might just have to borrow both kiddies one day to play with my little guy.
You know this one is my favorite!Ahhh, so incredibly cute!
The shadows are so pretty in this one.Brother and Sister.I’m just saying…I would frame it!Okay are you ready for some adorableness? Yup, when my son gets older I’m so letting him do this.I had to end on a picture out of a story book.

Christine & Van. San Gabriel Valley Wedding. Los Angeles Wedding Photographer.

Christine and Van are one of those couples that truly complete one another because of their opposite attractions. Of course they have a lot of similarities: they are both undeniably attractive, they have a mellow but hip style, they are so very kind, and of course they love one another to pieces. On their wedding day I also learned that they each show their heart-throbing love for one another vey differently. From early in the afternoon ’till late at night, Christine was very subtle in her touch and gentle in her kisses. Van on the other hand, is more of a public display of affection type of guy. He was ready to spin Christine into his arms, got a little grove going on during their first dance, and he definitely landed a passionate kiss on Christine after their vows. Now, that’s my kind of guy! With that kind of chemistry, I know their love is forever. Congratulations you two gorgeous love birds!

Also, a super big hug to Nea for second shooting with me. I loved your company and eye for detail! Here’s some more of their lovely day.

You are stunning!See…a little hot in here. He even had to look away, but it was a priceless moment!
Christine you are completely lovely!Dapper aren’t we?These two are my favorite individual photos of them.Their bridal crew rocked the poses!
Both Christine and Van rocked the dance floor in true dance/party crew fashion. (If you went to a private school in the ’90s you know what I’m talking about)
I love this.

Jude. 16 Days New. Los Angeles Newborn Photographer.

Adorable baby Jude arrived on October 8th at 4:27 pm. He was a cute little thing weighing in at 6 lbs. 7 oz. and 18 inches long. Mama Melody had a quick and painless labor. (Lucky her!) Daddy Richard was an awesome birthing coach. Melody said, that luckily his coaching words were on point so she didn’t have to beat him up. Ha! She cracks me up.

Jude must have had some sweet dreams while I was over because he had the cutest smiles ever! Congratulations Melody and Richard, you surely got a looker on your hands! (Call me in a year so we can have a play date!)

Hey Jude….

Seriously, this monkey suite is just to die for, and couldn’t look any cuter than on this little guy. For sure, this is my favorite!
Mama knit these cute little matching beanies. I’ll take an order of these please:)

Carmen Olivia. One Month New. Los Angeles Newborn Photography.

Sweet little Carmen Olivia was born at home with two midwives, two doulas and through an all natural birth. Geez, I bow down to mama bear! Along with Erica’s medical entourage, Joe and their third family member, Jia the dog, were present for the twenty-three hour labor that she endured. Whoa!!! After five… yes five hours of pushing, Carmen Olivia greeted the world at 3:41 am on September 18th 2012, weighing 6lbs 8oz. and 19 in. long.

Congratulations Erica and Joe (and Jia), you were amazingly patient with your sweet little angle. I wish you the best on this amazing journey of your daughter’s new life! I’m sure you’ve heard this a billion times but, “they grow so fast”. Soon, you will be calling me to plan her one-year photo session. 🙂 But for now, here’s some more of Carmen Olivia.

Here is my favorite!

Lam Family. Hyunh’s 75th Birthday. Orange County Family Photographer.

Does anyone, besides me, love that semi-recent Kaiser commercial where there are a bunch of elderly ladies having a blast just living life? The song to the commercial goes something like this…”when I grow up I want to be a very old woman…la la la.” Darn it! Trying to sing in person and… I guess on the blog is still no bueno. Well, I love this song because getting older is a wonderful thing. So instead of dreading growing old, I am embracing it because I want to see my son grow up and have a family of his own. Now that I’ve shared my feelings, let me tell you why. According to the Chinese calendar, Hyunh is celebrating her 75th birthday. Hyunh is not only honored with age, but with an amazing life. I want to get every detail in Hyunh’s life right, so I’m going to cheat a little, and use the story that was emailed to me. Dawn, Hyunh’s daughter-in-law, wrote:

My mother-in-law lives with us and watches our daughters when we are at work. She is a completely self-less, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She met Paul’s father in Vietnam (she and her mother and sister had escaped the Japanense invasion in China and moved to Vietnam) and then fled Vietnam because the war and Communism…Paul’s oldest brother had already come to America with a sponsor. The rest of the family was on a huge boat going no where in particular except away from Vietman. Paul’s mom always reminds him that they were scrunched on the boat and she held Paul (2 months at the time) on her lap…he pooped and peed on her lap the whole trip…no bathrooms. His uncle died on the boat and they threw him overboard. Thankfully, they were rescued by a German boat and left to be refugees in Indonesia.

When Paul was two, they reconnected with his older brother somehow and he sponsored them and that’s how they ended up in Santa Ana. Their journey is so incredible! Paul’s dad died at the refugee camp, so his mom brought ALL the kids here with her mother. She’s the strongest woman I know and her favorite thing to do is spend time with family…this day will be very special!
Amazing story, right? Lam family, I think you are so incredibly lucky to have such a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. You were all so much fun! Hyunh, Happy Birthday! I wish you many more years with your loving family! Here’s some more of the Lam family.
All the ladies:)

This is what 12 children and their children look like. The bigger the better, and I love it!Hyunh’s twelve children. I’m sure every night was like a slumber party.
Each one of Hyunh’s children with their families.I love “mommy and me” photos!
Grandchildren and one great-grandchild.See how much fun we had!
I want to frame this one myself…heheehe.
Hyunh is a lovely woman.
The hands that tell her story.Saved the best for last. My Favorite!

Noah. 6 Months. Los Angeles Baby Photographer.

“I want this photo shoot to capture the way he looked before he goes into surgery.” As I read these words from Diana, I nearly fell apart. My eyes started to water, and I got very emotional. In some way I feel like I’m a part of Diana’s family, because I’ve photographed many of her family’s special occasions. Now I feel honored, and even more blessed, to be able to photograph such an important time in her son’s life. Noah was diagnosed with Craniosynostosis, which  is when one or more of the special joints in a baby’s skull grow together too early. When these joints come together earlier than normal, a baby’s skull cannot grow properly. Luckily, baby Noah will go into surgery on November 8th. Please keep this little angel in your prayers!

I seriously love this family. They are so cute! Recently Diana, Ario, Baby Noah and Diana’s sisters participated in a walk for Cranio Angels that benefits babies undergoing cranio surgery. Since I follow Diana and her sisters on Instagram  I was able to follow them and their preparations for this charity walk. They created the cutest care packages for families whose babies will undergo this surgery. I think that’s just awesome!

Thank you again for not only allowing me to photograph another special occasion, but also making me feel like I’m part of  his journey as well. Diana, Ario, and Noah: I am praying and wishing only the best for my cute little model. Here’s Noah at six months.

Those cheeks! His smile is just contagious!
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a cuter or smaller guayabera.

I adore his expressions!Diana really wanted me to take a picture of him crying. I can’t help myself either, I love it when babies pout!
Surprise!
