Esther, Jimmy and Baby Nicholas. Family. Whittier Family Photographer.

I can’t help but pinch myself every time I photograph a new family. I love what I do and I love how I feel because each family is ready to show me their best outfits and smiles. When I say they always show me their best, and I do mean their best, it always melts me heart like an ooey-gooey hunk of brie fresh out of the oven. Well, who doesn’t love cheese, right? So, seeing these families, like Esther and Jimmy, gaze, kiss, squeeze and tickle one another is the sweetest part of all and makes me feel like I’m “just living the dream.” This is like adding the brown sugar right on top of that baked brie. Oh ya! Just try it and spread it on top of your carb of choice. You can thank me later…hee he.  Esther and Jimmy told me they started their family a little late, but that made waiting for ten-month old Nicholas even better. They adore him and I can just feel their love just gushing out. After our super mini studio session we walked to gather some family memories at a nearby park. As we were walking there, Esther blew my socks off. I asked her, like I ask all my new clients, how she heard of me. She responded that I was refereed to her on an invite-only Facebook page for mommies. She told me there were a lots of photographers that are suggested on the wall, but while she was looking, she chose me. I was so flattered that I’m surprised she couldn’t see my heart pounding back and forth out of my shirt (you know like those Warner Bro. cartoons). This just confirms that this was fate and I couldn’t be happier to have met this trio. You have one of the sweetest families, Esther. Thank you for selecting me and don’t forget to invite me into that mommy page. (Just sayin’)

This is my favorite… (no explanation needed)I love his puckered up look!Nicholas loved his snacks. He looked too cute eating them too! Can’t help it, second favorite!Esther your smile is amazing and bright!Someone wanted to get in on the kiss too:)Esther hand-made this superhero cape with the initial “N” on the back for his Superhero-themed first birthday party. Can I get one of these please-adorable!This kid is ready to take flight!

Benjamin. Baptism. Long Beach Lifestyle Photographer.

Amanda and Danny, welcomed baby Benjamin into this world just a little more then ten months ago. Now, Benjamin is ready to take in the Holy spirit. He was baptized on one of the most gorgeous days this Spring. It seems as though every time I document a baptism the birds are chirping, the sky is crystal clear, and God is just waiting to welcome beautiful bundles of joy into His glory. During the ceremony Benjamin was all smiles, ready to accept Jesus into his heart. They started the day with dressing him in a vintage inspired cream one piece with an absolutely charming bib and bonnet. And how perfect was it that St. Bartholomew is located literally two blocks from Amanda and Danny’s home, so we all trotted along Long Beach’s cheerful neighborhood. Of course with all joyous occasions quickly there after comes the celebration. I just had to capture the pin-worthy centerpieces and very chic dessert table that Amanda created for her guests. Congratulations baby Benjamin!
This one below is my favorite. I love the way Danny shows his overwhelming sense of delight in his son’s initiation into the first sacrament with God. I loved capturing everyone’s moment of joy for Benjamin. Look at grandma clapping for him…awwAnd now the proud family.
Seriously, I wanted to be a guest just so I could maybe snatch one of these perfectly put-together succulent centerpieces.

Charlie and Olivia. Flower Pop-Up Shop. Anthropologie.

Charlie and Olivia had their second annual Mother’s Day Anthropologie event. They created gorgeous floral arrangements for their pop-up shop in celebration of all the beautiful mothers out there. No matter what any lady says, I think a bouquet can always brighten up any occasion. I loved the way they paired vibrant spring blooms with classic and delicate accent garden flowers. Elvira, one of Charlie and Olivia’s event and floral designers, also set the lovely bouquets in mason jars (my fave) , pretty pots, and floral mugs. I had the pleasure of snapping these amazing “fleurs” and every now and then sneaking a peek at all the eye candy in stock. A girl can look, can’t she?

Today is our special day…It’s our Anniversary. Five Years.

The pleasure’s all mine, cause we have seen good times…it’s our anniversary. Oh Tony! Toni! Tone! you melt me each and every time.

This man, my husband, has made everything in my life better. For five wonderful years he has made good days great, okay ones better, and horrible days manageable. Here is a snip-it of our story. One fall morning we noticed one another on the UCI campus (I know, ZOT ZOT) bus on our way to Econ class. This bus was late, so punctual little me freaked. I had to sit in the back of class, which was completely uncharacteristic of my usual routine. That was when fate struck. This skinny cute fellow caught my eyes as he walked in through the heavy double doors of the enormous Social Science lecture hall. We both stared and for some reason I didn’t even hesitate to offer him the seat next to me (how forward of me- I know!). Instead of listening intently, which I desperately needed to for this class, I felt the intense urge to begin to chat and ask him typical first date questions. I don’t know what had gotten into me that morning. We exchanged giggles and digits without once writing a note from the professor’s lecture. Days after I invited him over for a study session and that’s where I realized we were on our way to becoming best friends. Yup, nothing romantic was headed our way for a while. The next couple of years we remained good friends. I studied abroad while we kept it real with Yahoo’s Instant Messenger (Ahhh! That was way back in the day…..before unlimited texting, before texting). After I returned, I knew there was a some sort of void space in my life, but I couldn’t pin point exactly what it was. Then, I realized we hadn’t been talking as much and I missed my friend. The spring after I graduated we let cupid work a little magic and we gave it a shot at a real relationship. Five years, two doggies, one toddler and one newborn on it’s way later…we know we truly are made for each other. He and I, are soul mates, best friends, and the loves of each other’s lives. As my brainiac math man would like to say, we go together like real and imaginary (Complex numbers that is). Ha! Thank you God for blessing us with this beautiful life. Happy Anniversary schmookie! I love you forever and a day!!!

Oh and I’m a little late on this post. These photos were taken in October of this past year for his 3oth birthday, but I’ve been a little busy if you haven’t noticed. Please don’t think we are some obsessed ’90s freaks because there are a bunch of old school props in here. It is just that we thought it would only be appropriate to show some old school gear since he had a 90’s boy themed party, yes with a Lego cake, Tetris photo booth, and Pog playing station and all.
