The connections you make with people in life are fascinating! A couple of years ago I was contacted by this super sweet girl to photograph her and her adorable family. After meeting Monica, the cutest little five foot nothing sweetheart and David who was a whole foot taller then her I knew they were the kind of couple I would obsess over. Their fashion sense was crazy good. They were the kind of couple worth melting for (yes, it’s a Frozen reference lol) because each one of them had a heart of gold and their son was just so squeezable I could pinch his cheeks off (but I wouldn’t, duh). After I photographed their family for various celebrations and holidays David contacted me to help him with his surprise proposal to Monica. I was beyond excited for them, so of course I agreed and snuck my little ‘ole self on over to Santa Monica where he got on one knee and she said yes! I la la love watching my families grow and being able to photograph their celebrations and journeys in life make it that much sweeter. A few months ago Monica and David tied the knot and I was there again to capture all of the fashion, fun, and the love they share.

Monica’s dress was beyond! She had it custom made and well any Stuart Weitzman shoe is a-okay with me! David, as always, was on point with his blue fitted suite, pink bow tie, and rockin’ socks. They are those fun kind of couples so ya she was busting a move to some 90’s hip hop jams and pretty much everyone danced the entire night! Our Babe | Part Two | Newborn Photography

What can I say, I’m a bit obsessed with taking photos of my kids. I just can’t help myself! It’s their little toes, squishy noses, and overall innocence that gets me. Like they say, “time flies” and boy it sure does! I get all emotional just thinking about how I started my photography business. When my son was born a little over four years ago I really wanted to capture every single possible moment of his life. It took us a little while to get pregnant so when he arrived I couldn’t help but take a daily, weekly, monthly, and each milestone photo. Once I started clicking I literally couldn’t stop. I knew I was passionate about photography when I was in high school, but I didn’t realize how much I enjoyed making people smile (especially my son) and capturing those beautiful images. Now I am so obsessed with trying to perfect the ideal balance between a pretty posed shot and a effortlessly beautiful candid image that I want to practice on my children all the time. Here are a little bit of both types of photos. And now that our family is complete I really want to make sure I get as many of their “growing up together” moments before they all part their ways into adult hood and all I’m left with are my memories and these photos of my beautiful babes! (I know those last couple of lines had my throat in a knot)

This girl! She’s got it going on for sure. A few years back we connected through Instagram and she started signing up for my Holiday Minis with her perfectly paired boyfriend (now fiancé). She’s always so sweet, kind, and one creative gal. Her feed is inspirational and yummy to look at because she posts a lot of delish food on there from the most unique coffee shops in LA. Now after a few years of studying and late nights she’s graduated. Yared received her bachelors degree from Cal State LA in Sociology and I couldn’t be happier for her! Well deserved pretty young thing, well deserved! May your future shine as bright as you do! xo

Mr. & Mrs. Rhoads |Married |Dove Canyon

Oh such a lovely day for a wedding in the beautiful month of May. Carrie and Jason tied the knot in front of many of their friends, family, and very close colleagues. Throughout the entire day they both had such a gleam in their eye that no one even mattered besides each other. I never had to ask them to redo a kiss because it seemed as though their lips ceased to separated. Now, that’s what I call love! These two are so sweet it’s like honey is oozing out of their pores. Their kindness and generosity are definitely the reason why their day just kept on getting better. Good people totally equals good vibes and even better luck.

Congratulations you two sweet souls! I’m really hoping you’ll start your family soon so I can photograph some red-headed blue-eyed babes!

Sophie & Sebastian| Siblings |Orange County

Sophie and Sebastian are one of the two cutest pairs I’ve gotten to work with before I went on my maternity leave. Their bright eyes just say it all! Their parents wanted to have a sibling photo session, but most of the focus would be on Sebastian because he was turning one. The one-year mark is such an important time to document. I love including some of each child’s milestones, like standing or walking, and their little quirky facial expressions which change so quickly. I can’t believe that only a few years ago I was documenting Sophie turning one and now I have the honor to photograph her and her little brother. Sophie’s hair has grown so much since she was a one-year-old with her pretty puffy curled bob. Now that I’ve met handsome Sebastian I must say they have some lucky parents. They have best of both worlds with their sweet Sophie and Sebastian. She’s a great big sister and he’s just one of the most adorably handsome guayabera-wearing little guys!

When I say I have the honor of photographing previous families I really do because there are so many great photographers out there. When a family comes back to me even after a few years I’m so grateful that I get the chance to help them capture new memories once again.

Our Babe | Five Days New |Newborn Photography

Our babe has finally arrived! Everett came into our world in the afternoon (just like his siblings) on a Friday. I knew that this being our third child we had no time to waste in order to get to the hospital. So at five a.m. in the morning of June 19th we zoomed off to meet our little man. Around seven hours and half a push later we met our sweet baby boy. Just the feeling of being alive and knowing that we had a safe and healthy delivery made my little heart explode with pure bliss. It was like the 4th of July had come early! I kissed his long tender fingers and caressed his sweet little head full of hair as I wept with tears of joy. He was so tiny, much smaller then my first two, but I was still in awe of how this big little human being grew in my belly for ten months. He was alive and well, I was alive and well and that’s all that mattered at his first moments of life. I thanked God for all of the beauty that surrounded me. So here we are a bit over two weeks later and this mister is going great!

Here is one of his individual newborn sessions at just five days new. He was awake and asleep for his photography debut which was exactly how I wanted it so I could get a bit of his personality shining through and of course those dreamy sleepy baby faces. Here is my take on a minimalist newborn session and to make it even more perfect (for my taste) I made this a black in white series, which I’ve always wanted try!

Brunch For Our Babe Everett | Baby Shower |Bailey Street Kitchen

I thought I might as well blog my baby shower before our babe Everett arrives and only leaves me time to snuggle and adore his little itty bitty parts. For my third and last baby shower, I really wanted to reflect more of my personal style then a classic baby shower. I love all things modern with a twist of midcentury feel, everything clean and classic, and lots of plants so that’s where my heart decided to take my ideas and turn them into my babe brunch. Indigo, tie dye and ferns laid the foundation for my color pallet and I couldn’t be happier with the way everything got literally pieced together. I grabbed items from everywhere, Ikea to store fronts in Downtown LA, while purchasing delectable desserts and renting gorgeous stands. I wish I could say I accomplished this feat all by myself, but thank goodness I didn’t have to because I wouldn’t have finished in time. My sister and her husband along with my husband all contributed to my boho-inspired intimate baby shower brunch. I can’t say thank you enough for how much I adore them for all their love and support .

We kept the itinerary simple by only playing a few fun games. My favorite game what guessing the title of the most poplar children’s books. The reader of the year, my mother, would have won but that wouldn’t have been fair. The runner up was my dear friend Charm who just so happens two have two toddlers and is a teacher. Hmm, I guess that wasn’t too fair to all the other ladies either. Ha! What I love the most is to give, so what better way to show my appreciation to each guest for attending then to give them something that I would love. Each friend and family member had a chance to create their own DIY hanging succulent terrarium. It turned out to be a huge hit! After that, each guest was asked to draw an image that would represent the letter of whichever alphabet card they had chosen. I have to say I loved watching everyone color and create their best work so that I would have a full alphabet card collection for my babe Everett.

Oh and I can’t forget about the beautiful personalized calligraphy that I ordered from a hip instagram follower. My dear sweet girlfriend Svea also came to the rescue the day before my shower to help me design the Pinterest wall hanging, which I loved so much that its now it’s hanging in my house. Also big hugs to my girl Nancy, she makes amazing cakes and her decorating skills are superb, but I didn’t want her to do any work so instead she baked my cake and covered it in fondant and I tried my very best to decorate it. I hope I lived up to her cake decorating standards!

Mila | Three Months | Los Angeles

I recently had the opportunity to photograph a precious and oh-so-beautiful three-month-old baby girl named Mila. I am so lucky that I get to photograph adorable babes and their families very often, however I was a little nervous for this session because Mila had just turned three months. What’s had me shaking in my knees about this angelic looking three month old…well I’ll tell ya! Newborns are sleepy so they are well mostly asleep for their sessions and look so darn adorable in their slumber (especially if they are under a month). Six-month-olds and up are sitting, laughing, and even crawling around so it’s easy to capture their newly forming personalities. However, when littles are three months they are awake enough to know what’s going on, so they actually aren’t sleepy at all. Then on the other hand they aren’t strong enough yet to hold their heads up and just sit pretty. With that being said the best place to put a three-month-old beauty is in their parent’s arms because that’s exactly what they want! Luckily I always have plans A, B, and C ready to take any babe.

Right when I met Mila I knew she was going to be just wonderful and basically photogenic! Every photo, every image, and every moment I captured was beautiful. She was like a baby angel sent from the photographer gods. She was full of smiles the entire session and didn’t mind anywhere we placed her. I mean it also helped that her nursery was adorable, she wore matching flower crowns with her gorgeous mama, and their intimate family images just made my jaw drop. Yup, all the little extra effort that my families put into the details I just think makes everyone feel, look and act their best!

Congratulations Adrina for giving birth to a living doll and Bobby for creating one of the most adorable families ever! Can’t wait to watch babe Mila grow!!!
