Paola & Nick | Maternity

I’m back…yes I’ve taken more than a little hiatus from this blogging life. Not from photography, at all, I think it was actually the fact that I had so much photography work (which is always a good thing-scratch that- except for my blog) that I didn’t have enough time for blog posts. Well enough of my semi-explanation let’s take a look at my most recent maternity session.

Meet Paola and Nick. Isn’t it so interesting how this world is so small, especially in this “social media” one where we think someone might be worlds aways but you could just bump into them at your local Target (insert emoji of woman with one hand lifted sideways). Well, that sort of happened here, sort of. My husband and Nick (father-to-be) went to high school together. We met and the three of us hung out one night in our town. Years later Paola (mommy-to-be) finds my feed through a friend’s post and voíla we are here documenting all of her belly’s beauty.

Paola and Nick are so excited for the arrival of their baby, who’s due in late August. And…I can’t wait to meet their little one because yup they booked me for their Newborn session as well. Bring on the baby fever. Just kidding, I only like to smell them now. Throughout the session these two were all over another giggling and teasing one another like they were newlyweds. It was so sweet I almost thought I was shooting their engagement session instead of their maternity. Yup you could say “all the feels” for this one!

Oh and check out Paola’s hair and dress…work it mama!

Venessa | Maternity | Vista Hermosa

I met Venessa a few years ago when we taught at the same school in Los Angeles. She was a sweet gal who loved her profession as well as children. So, I always knew she’d make for an incredible mama! Then a couple of years later I took her and her husband’s Anniversary photos at their alma mater, Loyola Marymount University and I was like, “When is this fun couple going to make a baby?!” Ha, and now here we are celebrating their baby boy bump (actually he already arrived and is as cute as can be)! Oh and her sweet grandma made these super soft and cute baby booties and sweater! Yes!!! I always love anythang handmade. 2016-10-13_00012016-10-13_00022016-10-13_00032016-10-13_00042016-10-13_00052016-10-13_00062016-10-13_00072016-10-13_00082016-10-13_00092016-10-13_00102016-10-13_00112016-10-13_00122016-10-13_00132016-10-13_00142016-10-13_00152016-10-13_00162016-10-13_00172016-10-13_00182016-10-13_00192016-10-13_00202016-10-13_00212016-10-13_00222016-10-13_00232016-10-13_0024

Veronica & Charlie | Maternity | Orange County

I’m always surrounded by such pretty girls during my sessions, and most of them just happen to come from my high school alma mater. Now we are all grown up and these intelligent, independent, and hard working ladies have transformed from pretty gals in plaid skirts and burgundy headbands to full-fledged career women and moms. I can’t even express how much gratitude I feel every time one of the girls (because I went to an all girl’s school) asks me to photograph their lives. It’s like weren’t we just track buddies a few years ago and now I’m photographing a baby in your belly? Craziness to the max for sure! This is exactly how I felt when I met up Veronica and her husband Charlie. She’s as cute as I remember her. We gabbed a whole lot during their session, mostly about baby stuff like, nursery and names, but most importantly about the support they will have from their families. Here are some fun details I gathered; Isabella will be the fourth grandchild on Veronica’s side of the family, her nursery will look adorable in mint and elephants (come one, who doesn’t love a little mint in their lives?), and baby Isabella has made mama’s feet itch really awful lately! Congratulations Veronica and Charlie!!! I know you told me your are both as ready as you can be, but don’t forget the snacks and phone charger (Charlie)! Much love from your track buddy, Go Tigers!2015-02-18_00042015-02-18_00022015-02-18_00032015-02-18_00052015-02-18_00062015-02-18_00012015-02-18_00072015-02-18_00092015-02-18_00102015-02-18_00292015-02-18_00302015-02-18_00142015-02-18_00152015-02-18_00162015-02-18_00172015-02-18_00182015-02-18_00192015-02-18_00202015-02-18_00212015-02-18_00222015-02-18_00232015-02-18_00242015-02-18_00252015-02-18_00262015-02-18_0028

Christina & Mario. Maternity. Orange County Maternity Photographer.

Christina and Mario are waiting on their baby girl to arrive on August 11, just one day before my daughter’s first birthday. Yay for August babies! Christina and I ran track together in high school. She was the cutest little thing running up and down the soccer field. Ya, she was also pretty rad at soccer too! Being that it’s the World Cup this year, I’m sure she already has plans for her little baby girl to come out kicking. During Christina’s pregnancy she was lucky she didn’t have a bit of morning sickness and could eat whatever she wanted. They’ve already had their baby shower and now this (her pretty belly’s photos session) are pretty much the icing on the big old pregnancy cake.

It’s evident that Christina and Mario are totally in love with the fact they are about to become parents in a less then a few months. Congratulations Christina and Mario!

Jessica. Maternity. Orange County Maternity Photographer.

Her name will be Genevieve Anne. Jennifer’s pretty bump will have a middle name that has been passed down over a few generations from women in her family. This little lady  is fortunate to already have her room getting dolled up by her daddy, heirloom vintage clothing and furniture pieces passed down from her mother’s side and a whole lot of love from both families coming her way. Congratulations, baby Genevieve is already adored and I know once she arrives she will be as radiant as her mother in all of these images.

*Side note: My sister’s name is also Genevieve Ann, so as soon as we made that connection I knew she was another one of my prefect-for-me clients and she was also a little ecstatic at how we were kind of a perfect match too!

Jennifer & Andy. Maternity. Los Angeles Maternity Photographer.

Jennifer and I corresponded back and forth quite a few times before her maternity session. Usually it’s not too easy (well at least for me) to read someone just by their email alone. But with Jennifer, I knew right away she was sincere and as real as they come. In one of her emails, she sent me a photo of her and Andy on their wedding day and then another of recent snapshot of herself. Along with the email she said, “Here, so you know what you are working with.” After reading that I chuckled a bit thinking oh this girl Jennifer has a bit of comedic sass to her. We met me on the North side of Griffith Park and I was delighted with their excitement for the session. The time seemed to pass quickly because our conversations just rolled on with ease, as if we were high school friends catching up after a hiatus of several years. They are excited for the arrival of their son, Benjamin, who will make his appearance in a few weeks.  I have a feeling Benjamin is going to have his dad’s ear-to-ear smile and his mother’s gorgeous golden locks. Congratulations to you both!

Jessica, Steven & Andres. Maternity. Los Angeles Maternity Photographer.

What’s the best feeling after having your first child? Well, having your second of course. Jessica, Steven and their son, Andres, are preparing for the next addition to their family. This April they will welcome another handsome little fella. Yes, I did say April. Jessica’s bump is so petite and pretty, it almost looks as if she’s only six months instead of almost due! Jessica and Steven are planning on decorating the nursery with various types of transportation vehicles…more specifically, trains. That’s why they chose the Travel Town in Griffith Park for their maternity session. I felt like I was photographing a model because this mama was such a natural throughout our session. Her and her stretch-mark-free tummy totally worked the camera. She also brought a beyond beautiful quilt that her great-grandmother had made. I thought it was so sweet that she wanted to incorporate the blanket into their session. I just love it when my clients (especially maternity clients) bring heirlooms and antique, vintage or memorable items from their family’s treasure chests. By the way, her 90-something year-old great-grandmother is still alive. Lucky ducky! I had such a great time getting to know her (total sweetheart), him (he’s hilarious), and their’s (a cuter than a button toddler). Oh, Jessica’s sweet mother also joined us. Apart from Jessica being so drop dead gorgeous, she’s also a teacher. I knew that’s why it seemed like we just clicked as soon as we met.

Congratulations Jessica and Steven. I know you are going to have another adorable baby boy!

Emily & Ralph. Maternity. Orange County Maternity Photographer.

Emily and Ralph just gave birth to their adorable baby girl a few weeks ago.  I think I over-shared their beautiful maternity session on all my other social media sites that it slipped my mind to post on my blog. Well here you go… tons of loveliness from one of the sweetest couples.

Emily, had some pretty serious morning sickness during her first trimester. When she told me she was having a girl, I was like “Ahhh yes!” For some reason or another if you get morning sickness and you are having a girl it’s like at least ten times worse…but oh so worth the precious baby girl that’s on her way. Like first time parents Emily and Ralph are a bit nervous and anxious. I think they’ll do excellent because they’ve had practice watching over their nephew, Noah. He is the cutest little boy (and one of my adorable mini-clients). It just so happens that Noah’s parents are Diana and Ario (another extremely kind couple that are my clients as well). When Diana (Emily’s sister) first spilled the beans that she was pregnant again I was ecstatic, then she told me her sister Emily was also expecting. After that I found out they were both blessed with girls, but my favorite news from them was that I was going to be their maternity and newborn photographer. I just about fell to the floor when they mentioned that both baby girls were arriving only weeks apart from each other. They’ve got some cousin fun coming! Right now I know their homes are exploding with happiness and love. Congratulations Emily and Ralph!
