Gabriela, Joel, and Emma will welcome baby Eric to their family of three this coming November. I was ecstatic when Gabriela contacted me and said that one, she was pregnant…and two, she wanted me to photograph her maternity session again! Emma, their sweet smiling baby girl just turned one this past weekend and is stepping straight into big sister shoes while learning to walk. Whether it’s a little bit of Joel’s comedic personality, Gabriela’s easy going ways, or of course just hanging with their beautiful daughter, this family always makes me smile. Emma’s just a delight! She’s got a big heart and dazzling smile that lures you into her little toddler zone. Then you are hooked! I know exactly why her daddy is just head over heels for her. I can just see their new addition, Eric, blending right into this perfect little family! Congratulations Gabriela and Joel! Two babes are just more love to spread!!!

I was on one of my favorite sites, Pinterest, today and I came across a really profound quote, “There are so many beautiful reasons to be happy.” I love finding inspirational words, they really keep me going and put things into perspective when I’m in deep thought. Another reason why I loved this quote is because it made me think of the recent lifestyle session I did for the Gill, Trotter, and Rugg families. Everything about their session just made me think about how lucky the Trotter family is to have Lisa’s parents, sister and her family come visit from England, for their good health, and for them to share a couple of weeks together with their almost one-year-old darling baby girls. These are definitely beautiful reasons to be happy. Their love and happiness got sprinkled all over my lens that day. On top of all that goodness I was honored to photograph all of their love before they traveled back to England. Seriously, this is a huge honor!

Apple Picking. Personal. Los Angeles Lifestyle Photographer.

Apple picking is our thang! We look forward to it and no matter how hot or cold we love make-beliving that we are in the county. Crisp apples, apple pie, apple cider, apple butter, caramel apples you name it we are eating it! Along with all the fun of picking these delicious red, yellow and green apples and pressing our own cider I also love having an educational opportunity right at my fingers (literally). Researchers have done studies that prove the more experiences a baby, from the time of birth to three years old, acquire the more connections they will be able to create later in life, which will provide them with the necessary tools to succeed in their educational career. I know I got a little teacher-y on you, but I’m an education freak. Lol And what’s better then giving my children a fun educational experience? Well, having fun with them and being able to document these moments too! Here’s our 2014 apple picking adventures at Oak Glen. ‘Till next year.

How awesome is it to turn 15, have your very own photo session for your birthday invites, and look this fabulous? I’m not sure which sessions I feel more honored to be apart of; those of my friends or those that are referred by friends, family and even past clients. What I do know is that I love maternity sessions! Something about a first or even a third pregnancy and each mother’s excitement automatically lifts my spirits and makes me want to jump up for joy that they are blessed with this gift of another human. Toby was actually referred to me by one of my dear grad school friends and I couldn’t be more thrilled! Toby and Jeffrey are admittedly homebodies and just enjoy the simple things in life…like staying in to watch a good flick, grubbing at some good eateries and just being together. With that being said, they are ready to welcome their son, Oliver into their comfy lifestyle. Through out the session Toby and Jeffrey were one of those couples that hardly needed any direction. They just fell into place whenever I was about to put them into position. Along with her natural beauty and his handsome retro look they were such a joy to photograph! I’m sure little Oliver is going to be one handsome hunk! Babies are like little pretty packages controlling the music to an intense game of musical chairs. This usually drives parents-to-be insane because they never know when or where the music will go off…and there you go, rushing to the delivery room. This was true for Christina and Mario. Baby Marina was ready to come out, but wasn’t quite sure when to make her grand debut. Christina had been having contractions for a couple of days and decided to check herself into the hospital. When they got there, she was barely dilating so they sent her back home. Like with most women, this last stretch of the pregnancy is truly torturous because everything hurts and you are tired, but you also want to see your darling babe pop out. Christina and Mario went back a few days later. Their little nugget took her time. The waiting finally ceased and beautiful Marina Grace arrived as healthy as can be on August 8, 2014. Welcome Marina!

He meticulously got ready, making sure his tie was perfectly straight and his laces were knotted tight. She gracefully glided around the room, laughing as if no one was watching and ever so calmly adding each layer of accessories as if it was her morning ritual. This is who they are and that’s why they work so well. Steve is exact and almost a bit timid while Esmeralda lures him in with her tenacity for life. Their day had arrived and they both looked stunning. Their shoes “tho!” You have to admire them. I’m a shoe gal and both his oxfords and her Betsy Johnson’s loved my camera…or should I say, my camera loved them . The day was a bit on the hot side, but as soon as everyone entered the church, they were cooled by the low lights and magical stained glass windows. After the intimate ceremony, hugs were exchanged and the party started with a festively-fast father-daughter dance. Throughout the evening Steve and Esmeralda’s kisses proved that they are even more in love then anyone could imagine.

Steve & Esmeralda: Thank you for such a lovely day! It was my honor to capture your love. Cheers to you and your new life as husband and wife.

Maritza, Son & Baby Maxson. Family. Los Angeles County Family Photographer.

Maxon’s name is derived from the combination of his dad’s (Son) and grandfather’s (Max) first names. How special is that? Right! This good looking little guy just recently celebrated his first birthday and his parent’s spoiled him with an entire session dedicated to his sweet cheeks! Besides the typical dude activities, like playing ball and pushing things around, Maxson also enjoys reading a novel or two, just kidding. But, he does love books! Maxson’s parents took awesome to a whole other level by teaching in not one, not two, but there languages. Maxson is currently learning English, Spanish and Vietnamese! Rock on parents, rock on!!! One of his and his mommy’s favorites is Love You For Always. What a tear jerker (It gets me every SINGLE time)! Maritza and Son wanted to stay local so I met them up at their neighborhood park. They really enjoy their weekly walks to and from this park. Maritza also loves taking Maxson to Mommy and Me classes on Mondays. Interesting fact… Maritza and I have our littles in the same class and we didn’t even know it until the second session. Small small world! Now I’m so excited that my daughter has this adorable and photogenic little tike as her new friend. Happy, Happy First little man!
