Toapanta Family. Family. Orange County Family Photographer.

The Toapanta family got together to celebrate a beautiful woman and her life as a wife, mother, and now grandmother. If you ask me Lorraine doesn’t look a day over forty and that’s all anyone needs to know about how many candles she had on her cake this year. Christina, her eldest daughter, had shared with me at her recent maternity session that her and her family wanted to surprise their mom with some birthday photos. First off I love birthdays and then photo session surprises are even more of a treat! I was excited to reconnect (the Topanta sister’s and I went to high school together…go Tigers!) with their sweet sweet as can be family. Lorraine couldn’t thank me enough for the wonderful surprise. It was really all Mr. T’s (so cool, right?) and his family’s idea. I was just there to document that love that bonds families together. All I could think of was, wow you look exactly how I remember at all of our track meets. I was going to say how lovely all the Toapanta women are, but they aren’t all Topantas anymore. They’ve grown up and now are married. On top of that their baby brother isn’t such a baby anymore either! He’s one handsome young man and his girlfriend also came to join in on the festivities. What a perfect bunch!

So here’s to a beautiful happy birthday photo session for Lorraine! I wish you many many more candles on that birthday cake and a bundle more grandchildren (because this first one is just a doll) as well!

Ellie’s 1st Birthday. Kentucky Derby Theme. Los Angeles Lifestyle Photographer.

It has almost been one month since my dear Ellie has turned one. Here are a few photos from her Kentucky Derby themed first birthday party. Of course I used the traditional horses, mint juleps, and roses to incorporate this theme, but added my own little spin and girly touches with golds, pinks, and desserts galore. Some of the other special details included her Nani making a custom naked cake, some desserts from our favorite Sweet and Saucy, and fresh flower garlands by your’s truly (you guys…I tried my best). Oh and we can’t forget we always have to add a little bit of Mexican flavor with individual fruit cups, a Taco man, and her very own pony to ride. Adult guests got to sip on Mint Juleps and decorate their glasses with swizzle sticks from Gnome Sweet Gnome while the little ladies and gents drank virgin mint juleps in milk bottle containers. Not pictured are the paper ponies that the kids got to color and “ride” around. Parents were also encouraged to make their little tikes pretty plastic ID bracelets-just incase! The evening ended with Ellie and her guests hitting two pinatas. Instead of the number pinatas I love getting the word of the number turned into a piñata. I guess it’s just the teacher in me. Oh and we can’t forget I sewed together various pink pom-pom lined blankets so the guests could sit down and relax whittle watching Frozen that we had projected outside- since it was such a hot summer night. 2014-09-10_00012014-09-10_00022014-09-10_00032014-09-10_00042014-09-10_00052014-09-10_00062014-09-10_00072014-09-10_00082014-09-10_00092014-09-10_00102014-09-10_00112014-09-10_00142014-09-10_00122014-09-10_00132014-09-10_00152014-09-10_00162014-09-11_00092014-09-10_00172014-09-10_00182014-09-10_00192014-09-10_00212014-09-10_00222014-09-10_00232014-09-11_00012014-09-11_00022014-09-11_00032014-09-11_00042014-09-11_00052014-09-11_00062014-09-11_00072014-09-11_00102014-09-11_00112014-09-11_00122014-09-11_00132014-09-11_00142014-09-11_00152014-09-11_0016

Cristiano & Mackenzie. Cousin Smash. Los Angeles Lifestyle Photographer.

I thought I’d start everyone’s Monday on a happy note by posting the two most adorable cousins you ever did meet. First of all, they look like they could be twins. Secondly, that hair! I love the golden locks. Cristiano and Mackenzie are true blue first cousins. Their mommies are sisters and I have had the pleasure of photographing their beautiful families a few times now. Mackenzie and Cristiano turned one this summer and what better way to celebrate, then to have a joint Smash?! Their mommies had a vision (Mackenzie was going for a modern Alice In Wonderland look and Cristiano’s theme was Monster’s Inc.) Mackenzie’s mom always scores on Etsy (where she found her whole outfit) while Cristiano’s mama made his insanely cute overalls and birthday pennants for both kiddies! The location was simple because we wanted the models to shine…and they did! Happy Birthday doll faces!!!

Yajaira & Alfonso. Anniversary. Los Angeles Anniversary Photographer.

Throughout a sea of a couple hundred people and in a crowded, stuffy auditorium, these two caught one another’s eyes. Within the blink and a snap of their fingers, time flew by and now they are here smiling, laughing and just enjoying life happily ever after. Eleven years and two handsome boys later, these two are living their dream. Yajaira and Alfonso are celebrating their anniversary and their August birthdays with a photo session all their own. For several years now, I have photographed their family of four for just about every holiday. This year, they wanted to take the plunge and document the love that they share as husband and wife.

Congratulations Yajair and Alfonso, you make eleven years look like a breeze!

Eloise. Birthday Morning. Los Angeles Lifestyle Photographer.

Oh geeze Eloise. I need to catch up on my blogging! Well, here is a sweet something for your Bla Bla (and I’m not just talking about the dolls) Thursday. My darling dear baby girl turned one on August 12th and she woke up to tons of hugs and kisses…and giant balloons that were left over from her birthday party. Yup, she totally “woke up like this” (minus the bow). If you are one of my lovely instagram followers, then you know that I love dressing my daughter in a mix of thrifted vintage girly dresses like the one here along with a few items from trendy stores and etsy shops too. The best part of these photos is since the background is the same in each image, her personality really shines throughout. She’s sweet, playful, bashful, and totally speaks through her facial expressions. I can’t even say how blessed I feel to have her in my life. She brightens up each hectic little moment, like when we are all trying to get ready in the morning and “brother” decides he wants to serve his own milk (ever so slowly might I add) and as he’s pouring milk from this ginormous Almond milk carton, his cup slips off his table so it gushes all over him, the table, and floor. Aye, Aye, Aye! The crying begins, the frustration sets in and he plays the blame game. “Mommy, see I told you graham crackers and milk is better with chocolate milk.” Like somehow he thinks that adding chocolate to his least favorite drink would have prevented the spill. Ya, and this is just a little over three minutes of what spirals into a whole morning of madness. Yet, after all of this, she just bats her pretty big eyes and I melt. Then I remember we are only on this earth for a short time and the three minute tantrum is not worth the battle. I have them and they have me-that’s all that matters each and every day. So happy almost Friday everyone!

Melody & Richard. Married. Orange County Wedding Photographer.

Melody and Richard displayed their love in front of a select few close family and friends. This wedding ceremony resembled the steaminess of Titanic and The Notebook combined. The tender kisses and sensual embraces they shared said it all!  This couple had been previously married by the court and now wanted to officially capture their blazing hot love for one another in front their loved ones.

So what happens when too hot individuals come together and have a child? Well, the have one of the most adorable baby boys-duh! Their son, also joined them as the ring bearer, at their ceremony. This bright-eyed baby boy completes this hip family trio and also shared a special place in this declaration of love for one another.  Despite the Palm Springs-like weather we’ve been having lately, the day was perfect. There was just a slight breeze to keep us cool enough to listen to their heartfelt vows and then the two or so…dozen kisses afterwards. It was an honor for me to photograph their wedding this summer. Especially since I started photographing Melody and Richard’s sweet and gorgeous family even before they had their son. Congratulations to these three beautiful souls and cheers to many more years (and hopefully more beautiful babies)! 2014-08-30_00312014-08-30_00042014-08-30_00052014-08-31_00012014-08-30_00072014-08-30_00082014-08-30_00092014-08-30_00102014-08-30_00112014-08-30_00122014-08-30_00132014-08-30_00142014-08-30_00152014-08-30_00162014-08-30_00172014-08-30_00182014-08-30_00192014-08-30_00202014-08-30_00212014-08-30_00222014-08-30_00232014-08-30_00242014-08-30_00252014-08-30_00262014-08-30_00282014-08-30_00272014-08-30_00292014-08-30_00302014-08-30_00322014-08-30_00332014-08-30_00342014-08-30_00352014-08-30_00402014-08-30_00362014-08-30_00372014-08-30_00382014-08-30_00412014-08-30_00422014-08-30_00432014-08-30_00442014-08-30_00452014-08-30_00482014-08-30_0049

Jennifer, Neil & Baby Genevieve. Newborn. Orange County Newborn Photography.

“Genevieve is here!” was the email that I received a couple of weeks ago. Remember Jennifer and Neil from their gorgeous maternity session in Orange County? Well, their darling baby girl made her appearance on July 24th in a matter of only a few hours. Yes, she wasn’t waiting for anyone. This precious little one came out very quickly, but luckily everyone was prepared and out popped healthy baby Genevieve. Their newborn session was very intimate (just the way I love them). We all spent time drooling over how sweet Genevieve looked in the knitted turtle two-piece she wore for a few of the photos (their mama was a Delta Zeta). Genevieve’s room was filled with beautiful vintage items that belong to Jennifer and were saved for her by her grandmother. I had mentioned this earlier in their maternity session post, so when they contacted me to photograph their daughter’s newborn session I couldn’t wait to take a look at those fine crafted pieces. The wooden rocking chair and toy chest didn’t disappoint!

Genevieve was just a joy to photograph. She slept all the way until the very end when Neil and I jinxed her and as soon as we mentioned how perfect she was, BAM! She started to cry. I was still able to manage grabbing a few more photos- just take a look yourself!

Thank you so much Jennifer and Neil for welcoming me into your lovely home and lives! Congratulations on your sweet sweet Genevieve. She just made me smile from ear to ear!2014-08-26_00012014-08-26_00042014-08-26_00072014-08-26_00052014-08-26_00062014-08-26_00322014-08-26_00082014-08-26_00022014-08-26_00092014-08-26_00102014-08-26_00112014-08-26_00122014-08-26_00132014-08-26_00142014-08-26_00152014-08-26_00162014-08-26_00182014-08-26_00172014-08-26_00192014-08-26_00202014-08-26_00212014-08-26_00222014-08-26_00232014-08-26_00242014-08-26_00252014-08-26_00262014-08-26_00272014-08-26_00282014-08-26_00292014-08-26_00302014-08-26_00312014-08-26_00332014-08-26_00342014-08-26_00352014-08-26_00362014-08-26_00372014-08-26_00382014-08-26_00392014-08-26_00402014-08-26_0041
