Isabella | First Birthday | Whittier

Isabella’s first birthday photo session was a piece of cake! Her brightness shined throughout the entire session. Her mommy used a lovely pastel pink color palette that perfectly represented Isabella’s birthday spirits. Of course her parents would go all out, with a gorgeous laced-teepee, to add to her special session, which was uber chic! Although I think Isabella has mommy’s beauty, she’s totally daddy’s little girl. It was her daddy that held each one of her squishy little fingers every time her feet became unsteady and when dirtied her pretty in pink dress he was there to brush it off and give her encouraging kisses. At the end of this fun fantasy-like shoot baby Isabella was all pooped out and ready for some serious napping zzz’s! 2016-07-10_00122016-07-10_00112016-07-10_00102016-07-10_00092016-07-10_00082016-07-10_00072016-07-10_00062016-07-10_00052016-07-10_00042016-07-10_00032016-07-10_00022016-07-10_00012016-07-10_00132016-07-10_00142016-07-10_00152016-07-10_00162016-07-10_0017

Maiya & Liam | First Birthdays |Los Angeles County

Twins separated at birth, just joshing you all! These two cuties were born on the same day so obviously they’ll share a birthday photo session to celebrate turning one! Each of their personalities definitely shine through! Maiya is was a little camera shy, but full of curiosity and sass! Her dainty mannerisms and beauty just shown through every image. Liam had a chill “look-at-me” swag to him! Mama, with that smile you better watch out! Till’ next time cuties! 2016-07-06_00012016-07-06_00022016-07-06_00032016-07-06_00042016-07-06_00052016-07-06_00062016-07-06_00072016-07-06_00082016-07-06_00092016-07-06_00102016-07-06_00112016-07-06_00122016-07-06_00132016-07-06_00142016-07-06_00152016-07-06_00162016-07-06_00172016-07-06_00182016-07-06_00192016-07-06_00202016-07-06_00212016-07-06_00222016-07-06_0023

Sophie & Sebastian| Siblings |Orange County

Sophie and Sebastian are one of the two cutest pairs I’ve gotten to work with before I went on my maternity leave. Their bright eyes just say it all!  Their parents wanted to have a sibling photo session, but most of the focus would be on Sebastian because he was turning one. The one-year mark is such an important time to document. I love including some of each child’s milestones, like standing or walking, and their little quirky facial expressions which change so quickly. I can’t believe that only a few years ago I was documenting Sophie turning one and now I have the honor to photograph her and her little brother. Sophie’s hair has grown so much since she was a one-year-old with her pretty puffy curled bob.  Now that I’ve met handsome Sebastian I must say they have some lucky parents. They have best of both worlds with their sweet Sophie and Sebastian. She’s a great big sister and he’s just one of the most adorably handsome guayabera-wearing little guys!

When I say I have the honor of photographing previous families I really do because there are so many great photographers out there. When a family comes back to me even after a few years I’m so grateful that I get the chance to help them capture new memories once again.

Happy 1st Birthday Sebastian! 2015-07-08_00252015-07-08_00032015-07-08_00012015-07-08_00022015-07-08_00042015-07-08_00052015-07-08_00072015-07-08_00092015-07-08_00102015-07-08_00112015-07-08_00122015-07-08_00132015-07-08_00142015-07-08_00152015-07-08_00162015-07-08_00172015-07-08_00192015-07-08_00202015-07-08_00212015-07-08_00222015-07-08_00232015-07-08_00242015-07-08_00262015-07-08_00272015-07-08_00282015-07-08_00292015-07-08_00302015-07-08_00312015-07-08_00322015-07-08_00332015-07-08_00342015-07-08_00352015-07-08_00362015-07-08_00372015-07-08_00382015-07-08_00392015-07-08_00402015-07-08_00412015-07-08_00422015-07-08_00432015-07-08_00442015-07-08_00452015-07-08_00462015-07-08_00482015-07-08_00492015-07-08_0050

Isaac | First Year Photos & Cake Smash | Los Angeles

How does a year fly by so quickly? Everyone always says it, but parents don’t actually feel it until it’s time for their child’s first year photos. I’ve had so much fun hanging out with and photographing Isaac’s family since before he was even born. I welcomed them into my “photography family” as I like to call it over a year ago when I photographed their maternity session, then came newborn photos, holiday sessions, and now this…year one for baby Isaac! I know these adorable babes don’t realize that I know them so well, especially when their parents are trying to stuff cake into their mouths and I’m some weird lady that makes silly sounds and obnoxious faces, but in the end we all have a good laugh and memories to literally last a lifetime.

Isaac had three boyish and super festive outfits for his session. He’s been teething for a while so until dad threw him up in the air is when he was willing to show us his pearly growing whites. But his pouty lips is all I would need to frame! And for his finale, he looked back at us with one finger up in the air, as if he was saying, “you put me through three outfit changes, had me eat a whole cake, and you did this all in front of a very public audience…I’m going to flip you all the number one!). Gotta adore this kid! Happy first Isaac!!!2015-04-14_00012015-04-14_00022015-04-14_00032015-04-14_00042015-04-14_00052015-04-14_00062015-04-14_00072015-04-14_00082015-04-14_00092015-04-14_00102015-04-14_00112015-04-14_00122015-04-14_00132015-04-14_00142015-04-14_00152015-04-14_00162015-04-14_00172015-04-14_00182015-04-14_00192015-04-14_00202015-04-14_00212015-04-14_00222015-04-14_00232015-04-14_00242015-04-14_00252015-04-14_0026

Jacob, Juliana & Baby Justin | Siblings | Irvine

One, two, and now three adorable littles have made their family complete. Big brother Jacob, six, and big sister Juliana, two have recently welcomed almost three-month old baby Justin into their lives. I was watching oh-so-carefully at their love and kind interactions with one another. Their mom and dad probably thought I was a tad crazy because I was over-asking questions about their beautiful children and how it was like raising three. I was interested in their interactions, the brother-sister relationships and how it was like having  a darling little girl smack in the middle of two brothers. They had mentioned to me how Jacob was a perfect little gentleman to both his younger siblings and Juliana enjoyed helping out as well, even if she’s only two. Nothing could prove this better then their sibling (which was a great idea for a “final count” photo session) session with me. When Baby Justin start to cry during the photos Jacob just held him carefully while Juliana tried to give him a pacifier. Neither brother nor sister was distracted and well that made for some super adorable photos.

Everyday a million and one people tell me three is going to be crazy, I have no doubt of that, but working with Jacob, Juliana, and baby Justin made it look more like love! I think their session was God’s little way of whispering to me, “everything is going to be okay.”

Nina & J.R. and Madden, Emmett & Brielle | Family| Descanso Gardens

Meet the Darling family, aren’t they just darling?! Ha, I just had to! Nina had very much wanted to finally get her family in front of the camera for their first professional photo session as a complete family of five. Why complete? Well, she said that was it, that her and her husband had their sweet daughter Brielle and they knew their family was perfect! Two princes and a princess sounds pretty good to me! I had an immediate connection as soon as we met. Their son’s name is Emmett and all their children are around two years apart. “Hey, ” I mentioned to Nina,  “just like me and my children.” Like any mothers would do, we discussed the trial and tribulations of having three, making adult time, and basically keeping it all together. I had mentioned to her that I feel like everyday I hear someone saying, “Oh three? The third one always makes things crazy.” Nina reassured me that the dynamics of the family do shift, but it’s manageable and the more the merrier! By the looks of how her and J.R. handled their first photo session as a family of five, I totally believe her! Congratulations Nina and J.R. on your beautiful family. Side note, Nina didn’t want to find out the gender of her last babe (you know because of the odds) and what a surprise to have Brielle Darling pop on out to greet them!2015-02-25_00012015-02-25_00022015-02-25_00032015-02-25_00042015-02-25_00052015-02-25_00062015-02-25_00072015-02-25_00082015-02-25_00092015-02-25_00102015-02-25_00112015-02-25_00122015-02-25_00142015-02-25_00152015-02-25_00162015-02-25_00172015-02-25_00182015-02-25_00192015-02-25_00202015-02-25_00212015-02-25_00222015-02-25_00232015-02-25_00242015-02-25_00252015-02-25_00262015-02-25_00272015-02-25_00282015-02-25_00292015-02-25_00302015-02-25_00312015-02-25_00322015-02-25_00332015-02-25_00342015-02-25_00352015-02-25_00362015-02-25_00372015-02-25_0038

Frida. Smash. Whittier Lifestyle Photography.

This little nugget was a bit of an overachiever in the cake smashing department. Frida is timid, at first, then she starts working in the smiles, and bam! she finally comes out of her delicate shell and is the life of her own cake smashing party. In a few weeks Frida is going to have a totally cutesy girly themed and colored “picnic” first birthday party. The invite is not your typical red and white gingham blanket with primary colored decor and ants crawling on top of grapes and cheese. Nope, it’s very girly girl with lots of pastels and chevron, polk a dots, lemonade and of course watermelon. Nothings wrong with the boy version of a picnic party, but to transform it into something that’s can be called a pretty picnic is pure genius. Good job mama! Happy first birthday little Miss Frida!

Sedona & Austin. Children. Los Angeles Child Photographer.

These two! Sedona (6 years) and Austin (7 months) are named after cities, so what better place to have a sister and brother session right in the heart of the city they live in, Echo Park. She likes Hello Kitty and he enjoys toy cars. Together they like to giggle and snuggle. Sedona, like most big sisters, loves to give him lots of hugs and kisses, and like any boy, her brother is just realizing all that ooey gooey stuff is a little gross. So he likes to wiggle out of her tight grip and she just laughs it off. Throughout the session both kiddies were posing like perfect little statues. Sedona was super charming. She danced, kart wheeled, and was pretty much fully animated the entire time I was snapping away. At the end she even serenaded me with my son’s favorite song, “Let it Go.” Austin was a chill little dude. He laughed, rolled over a bit, and played wherever we sat him. Sedona and Austin’s mama is one lucky ducky! She’s got a precious pair! sab1sab2sab3sab4sab5sab6sab7sab8sab9sab10sab11sab12sab13sab14sab15sab16sab17sab18sab19sab20sab21sab22sab23sab24sab25sab26sab27sab28sab29sab30sab31sab32sab33sab34sab35
