Bodhi. Smash. Los Angeles Baby Photographer.

As soon as I walked in, this little nugget treated me like I was his sweet heart. He batted his gorgeous big eyes and wanted to play right away.  He really knows how to impress a girl. Then his mom and grandmother informed  me he likes “all” girls. There went my little ego. I’m sure this stud muffin isn’t going to have any problem in the ladies department when he gets older. Throughout his big Smash session, he wanted to play, laugh, crawl and then giggle some more. Then came time for the big smasharoo and as you can see, he took his job very serious. Bodhi ate, smashed, pounded, flipped and then finally demolished his first birthday cake. Besides it getting all over the place, a bit did actually get in his mouth. Happy Birthday Bodhi! bb1bb2bb3bb4bb5bb6bb7bb8bb9bb10bb11bb12bb13

Janelle Turns Two. Family. Orange County Family Photographer.

Get ready for some cuteness! Janelle will be two this December and her parents wanted to document her energetic adorable self.  Like most two-year olds, Janelle likes to go where she wants and when she wants, which allowed me to have a little cardio session while chasing after her. I learned that most girls are “daddy’s girls” and Janelle wasn’t any different. Daddy, along with Mickey Mouse were able to make her laugh throughout our entire session. These memories that this little family is making are surely priceless. Whether I got candid or posed photos, I think taking annual family photos is a must! It documents growth, life, and most importantly your family’s love.

Besides taking family photographs, Marianne (Janelle’s mommy) wanted to have a session to create Janelle’s birthday party invites. This year Janelle is going to have a Micky & Minnie themed second birthday party. Classic and oh-so-cute! After we took the family photos, Janelle’s mom dressed her up in the cutest little Minnie number. Janelle, you are the cutest two-year-old Minnie ever! I just love your smile too!nb1nb2nb4nb5nb6nb7This series is my favorite. Some lovely father-daughter moments for sure!nb9nb10nb11nb12nb13nb14nb15nb16nb17nb18nb19Close to a first favorite! nb20nb21nb22nb23nb24nb25

McCarty Family. Family. Los Angeles Family Photographer.

What parents could ever imagine that after their first child their hearts would be big enough to love another one just the same? It’s true. I have this conversation all the time with parents expecting their second child. How about double the love with twins? Well, just like breathing, it comes natural (Now, I know from experience). Cassie and her husband were blessed not once, not twice, but thrice with adorable pretty little ladies. Right away I could tell that they had perfected spreading the love and attention by their calm nature and easy going manner of interacting with these pretties. Their eldest daughter, four-year-old Abigail, made my heart go pitter patter while observing how she was a tender and sweet big sister. Although the twins were very calm themselves, I probably had made goo-goo gaga faces at them a million times to make one laugh. As soon as one started smiling, the other stopped and just like that I became a professional performing street monkey. Let’s just say that hanging around them was like getting a natural dose of Botox.  Yup, my face muscles definitely thanked me for the workout that afternoon. After all of the laughs and giggles I think these three cuties tired us all out. Congratulations McCarty family! You have an adorable trio, which makes you a perfect party of five!cb1cb2cb3cb4cb5cb6cb7cb8cb9cb10cb11cb12cb13cb14cb15cb16cb17cb18cb19cb20cb21cb22cb23This one is my favorite. Something about when a mother looks lovingly at her children makes me melt…and want to squeeze my own babies.cb24cb25cb26cb27cb28cb29cb30cb31cb32cb33cb34

Josiah. Five Years Young. Orange County Child Photographer.

Happy 5th Birthday to Josiah on July 23rd. This kid has got spunk! He loves a plethora of things like trucks, reading, Sponge Bob, yellow, red, purple, and sweet & sour candy. One of his favorite activities to do is dance Salsa. Aye aye aye! He can shake his little bum for sure. Kindergarten teacher, watch out because I don’t know what new thing you can teach this curlicued ray of sunshine. I mean look at his smile. Someone get this kid on the Disney channel. His mommy wanted to document year number five in his life and I couldn’t have had more fun helping out, especially when we were acting like crazy ladies trying to have him swing from a make shift monkey bar. Well, happy five digits to you kiddo! See what I mean, so ready for Kinder…if not even first!
This little combo is my favorite! He has the cutest grin!Even his jumping is cute! Rockin’ out!Second favorite because he was a bit shy showing me his dancing skills, but once he got warmed up this was the result….Oh my goodness!

Elijah. Back-To-School. Grade 5.

Meet Elijah. He will be in fifth grade this year. He reminds me of a very very young Jake Ryan. And if you don’t know what movie  this actor is from then I’m not sure you can keep reading my post. Just kidding…well what can I say they only made the best cult movies in the 80’s!  As you will see in this series of photos, Elijah has a serious modelesque look, and then he gets really silly and becomes your adorably cute fifth grader. If it was only that easy for the rest of us.

Elijah must be a popular name because this is my second Back-To-School session with a boy named Elijah. Both Elijahs are pretty awesome. Yup, I think I just might have to consider this name for my next child (well when I get pregnant and if it’s a boy) because both were very handsome, super sweet, and incredibly well behaved. And, I’m sure both Elijahs are excellent students as well.

Watch out Elijah’s mama, here comes your boy’s swoon-worthy good looks followed by fifth grade girl hormones.

It’s gotta be the hair!
My favorite.
Now, this is what a fifth grade boy really looks like! Okay here he goes again throwing in his Jr. GQ looks, so I had to balance it out with my favorite silly one.

Nea, Eddie, Kobe & Peyton. Mommy & Me.

Are you in love with these triplets, or what? Not one, not two, but I had the most awesome experience photographing three little men. Nea, a photographer from laced bliss & love is the super mommy to Eddie, Kobe, and Peyton. During the session we all got our work out on! They jumped, I jumped, they rolled I swayed, they giggled and we all laughed. Believe me it wasn’t an easy task following these little dudes around, but I just pretended that I was Wonder Woman and Professor X combo trying to freeze every frame to get just the right shot.

I met Nea along with Moriah and Gaby and we clicked instantly. These photographers are fun, super cool, and very down-to-earth girls. Our friend and mentor Ala, from Love Ala photography introduced us and I couldn’t be happier to now call these up-and-coming photographers, like myself, friends. Capturing family love is my forte. Nea, and the girls, as well as myself are trying to convey the most beautiful of all relationships in a family, that of a mother and her child(ren).  Through these intimate Mommy & Me sessions I hope to bring out the silly, serious, and even real moments that only a mother and her children could share together.

Nea, thank you for allowing me into your home and entrusting me with your tres bebes! You are gorgeous and your boys are so much fun and super duper adorable! I can’t wait to do this again.

Look at their faces….ahhh I love it!
Such handsome cuties!
Head, shoulders…knees…
…and toes.
Stunning!I heart story time!Peek-A-BooShe does not play around…Nea did her thang!

Camping 2012. Needles, CA.

I’m not going to lie, I’m pretty much obsessed with taking pictures. It’s not just because I’m a photographer, but because I love to capture those priceless unposed moments when friends, children, lovers, and even strangers are just being themselves. I also want to be able to look back at an image and relive that moment. It’s like when I’m at the mall passing by the cosmetics stations and I get a whiff of a familiar scent. The pungent perfume reminds me of a time that seems oh-so-long ago. Does this ever happen to you? I don’t remember the exact date or even know who was with me, at that instant, but I can feel an overwhelming rush of emotion engulf my entire body. My eyes close and my mind opens up and the nostalgia rushes through my veins. To think that a simple scent can have such a profound affect on my senses baffles me every time it happens. Yes, Vanilla Fields, from Rite Aid (yup I said a drug store) reminds me of elementary school. I guess this was all my parents could afford. Sunflowers (the perfume) reminds me of the painful high school years. Come on now, you know you owned at least the travel size bottle. And then there is Ralph Lauren’s Romance that totally brings a smirk to my face because it sends me back to college and I remember, well kind of, how I had way too much fun! This is exactly what I want to feel like when I look at a picture. I want my photos to act like these familiar scents. I want them to make me or you get all warm and fuzzy inside or chuckle a bit over the tiny things in life. I want to remember every step of the way from a head lean on a friend’s shoulder to an a sister’s embrace. These are the moments I never want to forget.

Thank you to our wonderful friends, the Villagran’s and their family for allowing us to make these new memories with them. I know in years to come we will look back and laugh, sigh, and maybe even shed a tear for the moments that we created. This chunk in time will now never be forgotten, but held close to our hearts because we shared it with people that we love and know love us, for real!

Oh, by the way, I am an instagram fiend. If you follow me you know, but if you don’t check out this ALL instagram slideshow from our sunny trip at the river.

If he could he would make everyone play “baal” with him all day long.
He was just a tad bit afraid of the water. Thank goodness I’m taking him for lessons this summer!Thank you husband for listening to my direction on how to photograph us:)
I was not that brave. Sad, but true.Love these girls! Some little sister is about to be a big sister very soon. This is exactly what I’m talking about. I will remember how my son, at 15 months, loved to give the most amazing hugs…to anyone that would accept them.

Merry Christmas, Love the Medina Grandchildren

When I start noticing the red and green paper corners filed between the drab white edges of bills in my mail box, I know it’s Christmas time. Its a time to love, share, and go out of your way to spread a little Christmas cheer to others. Now, more than ever, I believe taking the time to handwrite a personalized letter or note and sending out a Christmas card is much more significant then our “need for a speed” online comments, posts, and tweets. Receiving a Christmas card is like getting to open a little gift before the grand finale on Christmas morning when you unwrap all your presents. I know the Medina grandparents feel the same way because they asked me to snap the shots for their annual grandkid Christmas card photo. I was tickled pink because the Medinas know how to dress up the holidays!  These kids are not only fashionistas but really know how to work the camera. They loved showing off their pearly whites and had a ball with their cousins. I could only imagine how much fun they have on Christmas morning. Merry Christmas kiddos and don’t forget to leave those cookies and milk!

Doesn’t it look like they are all trying really hard to say, “Cheese!” They are so cute!

Goldilocks? 🙂 They had way too much fun taking cute, spontaneous and of course silly shots!

Do they look like best cousins, or what?
These two little darling dolls are so GAP Kids worthy!
I had to get a shot of their bright red headbands. LOVE!
