Family: Team Esparza

Meet the team, Paul, Vanessa, Nathan and Mason. I’m not going to lie I was a little nervous upon meeting Team Esparza. I received a short but sweet email from Vanessa asking me to take some photos of her family. That didn’t scare me. What threw me for a loop was that she wanted to take these pictures a.s.a.p, like almost yesterday fast. She actually gave me less than a week’s notice, but how could I resist making room on my calendar for a family shoot. I love family photo sessions. The innocence of the kiddies and the love that pours out from their parents is priceless. Team Esparza did not dissapoint. Their four year old, Nathan instantly melted my heart. He is one of those boys that I always want to ask their parents, how do you do it? How is your boy so well behaved and respectful? If they answer, I am waiting with pen and paper in hand ready to jot down all notes. See, when you are like me, a former first grade teacher, you’ve seen the run of the mill. So I tend to really appreciate those little boys that I would like my son to be like. Oh ya, Nathan is also incredibly  adorable! Their second son, Mason, almost made me want to run home that instant to hug my bebe. He is a little more than a week older than my son. Mason was also just perfect. Sheesh I really should have taken some notes from Vanessa and Paul. Their little guy smiled, laughed, sat patiently and only fussed when he got thirsty. What a champ! Vanessa and Paul,  I loved hanging out with you two and your little men as well. Thanks for being such a sweet and cooperative bunch!

Mason’s expression was too darn cute!

Baby Bumps: Unconditional Love for Juliana

This porridge was too hot, this one was too cold, but this porridge was JUST RIGHT. The enthusiastic couple created a “Three Bears” baby shower theme that was just right for their baby girl, Juliana. These new parents-to-be had a co-ed shower at the future grandparents’ home. Luck, as well as love, was on their side that November Saturday afternoon. Although sporadic clouds and wispy winds were some of the guests, the rain didn’t pour in until the next day and it literally didn’t turn into a baby “shower.” But, the love that was spread through out the afternoon and into the evening was overflowing with hugs, kisses and an occasional belly rub.  The couple kept the baby shower neutral by selecting lovely pinks and bright greens to create a girly woodland color pallet.   I was thrilled to capture their special moments through my lens. Congratulations you fabulous couple. I can’t wait to see your precious little baby girl.

I also created the photo booth for this special event.

A very woodland scene for those The Three Bears, Mama, Papa and Baby of course!

The dessert bar before the yummy treats arrived.
As guests arrived they turned in their diapers for a chance to win the “diaper game.”Some of the love from family…and friends.
Making memories for the Baby Book.
Juliana you are going to have amazing parents!

Merry Christmas, Love the Medina Grandchildren

When I start noticing the red and green paper corners filed between the drab white edges of bills in my mail box, I know it’s Christmas time. Its a time to love, share, and go out of your way to spread a little Christmas cheer to others. Now, more than ever, I believe taking the time to handwrite a personalized letter or note and sending out a Christmas card is much more significant then our “need for a speed” online comments, posts, and tweets. Receiving a Christmas card is like getting to open a little gift before the grand finale on Christmas morning when you unwrap all your presents. I know the Medina grandparents feel the same way because they asked me to snap the shots for their annual grandkid Christmas card photo. I was tickled pink because the Medinas know how to dress up the holidays!  These kids are not only fashionistas but really know how to work the camera. They loved showing off their pearly whites and had a ball with their cousins. I could only imagine how much fun they have on Christmas morning. Merry Christmas kiddos and don’t forget to leave those cookies and milk!

Doesn’t it look like they are all trying really hard to say, “Cheese!” They are so cute!

Goldilocks? 🙂 They had way too much fun taking cute, spontaneous and of course silly shots!

Do they look like best cousins, or what?
These two little darling dolls are so GAP Kids worthy!
I had to get a shot of their bright red headbands. LOVE!

Happy Birthday Nicholas and Daniel

I remember the days when my younger sister and I celebrated our birthdays together with one extravagant birthday party. I’m exaggerating. They weren’t exactly extravagant as the definition defines the word, but as little girls, anything pink with a cartoon character slapped on it that results in candy and cake, was pretty darn extravagant to us. My mom did what she could with the little she had and boy did we enjoy her thoughtfulness. Recently, I got to spend my time capturing Nicholas and Daniel’s birthday party. Their birth days are very close, so it would only make sense that they would celebrate turing eight and five together. Their creative mommy and daddy dreamt up a whopper of a theme, a Circus! Under the big top, tons of little boys and girls got to play games, win tickets AND fish, and get their faces painted. You can see here that Nicholas and Daniel are two sweet and silly birthday boys.

Look at the pop corn cupcakes…I mean wow even the butter looks real!

I had a love dislike relationship with the dart board game. I loved the idea and colors. I totally disliked how the kids were so good at it they almost got me in the eye:(

Face painters are a win-win with kids.

The boys’ mommy is my kinda mom. She wanted everyone to take a family picture with the clown-nose prop. They came out fantastic!

Hulla hooping. My fave. Let’s just say if I wasn’t photographing I would have got in on the mix!

Happy Birthday boys!

Christmas Photo shoot Take 1

Our Baby’s first Christmas must glisten with white lights and glitter with sparkly reds. Around this time I start envisioning Jolly Saint Nick’s,  “HO, HO, HO!” I know it’s a little early to get our holiday photos in the works, but this is just the first round of Christmas ideas and pictures for our little Santa. Now of course with all the glitz and glam of the holiday season approaching, I am not going to forget the true meaning of the Christmas spirit. Faith, Love and Hope. My husband and I have been extremely blessed to have a healthy and beautiful baby boy. I want to shout out my praises at the top of my lungs. This is how I shout…through the lens of my camera. Happy Holidays Everyone!
